What jets do I need???

OK, I recieved a kit from a friend that had it on his Mustang. It was a Nitrous Works plate kit. I can't use the plate so I sold it and planned on getting another plate for my LT1. Well, instead of paying 180 bucks for a plate I am just going to get a nozzle from dynotunenitrous. What jets do I need for a 150 shot and a 100 shot??? Also, would you WOT fuel pressure be what you set it at with the vaccum line close??? Reason I am asking is because they have a jet calculator and you need to know what your WOT fuel pressure is. When I put a new adjustable regulator on I set it at 43.5 with the vaccum line off.

One more question, how much timing should I pull using a Mallory 685 with the 100 shot and 150 shot???

With the vacuum line pulled it "does" simulate wide open throttle(many just rely on that) but IMO, a better way to make sure what your fuel pressure is doing (if you don't already have a gauge in your interior), is to use a fuel pressure gauge that has a long enough line(mine is 6ft) so that you can bring it inside the cockpit for an under power pass to verify your fuel pressure to make sure their isn't something inherently wrong with the cars fuel system under power and gravity......2 degrees of timing retard per 50HP nitrous increase, is pretty much the starting rule of thumb most people agree on.......and IMO, as far as using any of the jet calculators, I would always start a little more rich than their recomendations(couple fuel jet sizes higher), that may be just me, but I'd rather read the plugs, or see what it's doing on a wide band before I get it on the edge of being just right.............For example: my single nozzle NOS brand kit's factory jetting recomendations (for 43.5 fuel pressure) are actually very close to being perfect for my engine..... a 65 nitrous jet / 38 fuel for a 125 shot...and a 51 nitrous jet / 34 fuel jet for a 100 shot......according to the popular jet calculators Iv'e seen, these should be WAY rich jettings and higher power levels, but in my car they aren't at all.......hope this helps some........good luck.......Joe:cool:

thanks a lot. you're the first person who has replied. I am getting a triple gauge pod with a fuel pressure and A/F ratio gauge. I might get those hooked up before throwing the juice to it to make sure I have enough fuel. Thanks again!!

No problem, good luck with it:cool:

Not sure if this helps but these are the jettings I use for my LT1. It is a dry kit. NOS sais that the same fuel jet is used for the 125-175 shot. I've run all three shots and have had no problems. I know the fuel jet I am using is a hair on the rich side. To take fuel out you want to go to a numerically higher jet. Opposite of the nitrous jet

125 58/42
150 67/42
175 73/42

For example, if i wanted to lean out my shot I would go to a 44-45 fuel jet. To richen it I would go to a 40-38 jet. I 38 is probably the correct jet for these shots, but like I said , I have mine jetted slightly rich.

Let me correct myself, the 44-45 is probably the correct fuel jet for those shots. The 38 fuel jet would be way rich in my application.

Yea, dry kit's are a different tuning deal all together VS his wet kit

This is correct. I wasnt aware that he was running a wet kit.
