I went to swap out the transmission pan of my recent aquired car, a 69, firebird. I just assumed that it would be a TH350 since its a standard, non-hipo 350 ci. model. I pull the pan, and low and behold, i've never seen that shape before. got me thinking it could be a ford tranny or something. I guess it could be a powerglide, but I am pretty sure I have 3 gears.

Anyone got any ideas? I checked google and couldn't find anything that matched.

ST 300, what the crap is that?

Guess I'll have to send the TH350 pan and megashifter back to summit.

Super Turbine 300 = B-O-P 2 speed from 1964 - 1969. It shared a few parts with the more common aluminum case Powerglide.

Keep the parts you ordered. Yank out the ST300 and swap in a TH350.

I was actually thinking 4 speed or 5 speed swap. Just have to find a good pedal assembly. Probably isn't worth the trouble though, is it?

Depends on what you're looking to get. If you're looking for the best possible ET at the track, go with an auto. If you're looking to just have a blast with your car, swap a manual in. I have an M20 4 speed in my '67, and I love it every time I drive it.
