67 firebird, disc brake conver?97firechicken 04-21-2006, 09:22 AM on the front brakes they are drums and i want to convert to disc, anyone know of any kits or parts that can be swapped? angel71rs 04-21-2006, 10:16 AM If you want to do it cheap, find an X body (Nova & clones) up to 74 with disc brakes and grab everything. The front subframe of a 1st gen is the same as the subframe of an X bod to 74. If your prospective donor has the steering box next to the engine, that will do. Try to avoid the earliest Novas with the 4 piston calipers. Those things have a well deserved reputation for being leakers. There are guys that prefer manual drums vs power disc for weight and drag reasons on the strip. I also have the 2inch drop front spindals. Looks badass markinkc69z 04-21-2006, 05:56 PM I am a Wilwood fan. I have run the Camaro conversion for the last 10 years without complaint. It looks pretty good as well. 67speeda 04-21-2006, 11:25 PM SSBC was cheap and on sale. If i had to money i would have brought bear or wilwood. | ||
