After less than 10k miles my tensioner has gone to ****, so I was pulling off my blower and bracket to send to SDCE. And when I went to lower the blower out of the bracket the damn pulley fell off in my hand. I somehow managed to break the bolt off in the head unit. This happen to anyone else? I seem to have had nothing but bad luck with Procharger from the beginning and Im about ready to mail the whole thing back and go turbo.

I too lost a tensioner pulley at less than 10k. Most recently I blew the whole supercharger up in the driveway. Sent it back to procharger April 6th and it has been mia ever since. I am sorry I built my new motor for the supercharger. I dont think the p1sc should have blown up with only 10k miles. I dont even race the car. Its a weekend cruiser. So much for being the most reliable sc on the market.

If you broke the grade 8 bolt holding on the supercharger pulley you need to back off on the impact torque setting. It didn't just break on its own.

The thing is, I have never touched that bolt. Never did a pulley swap and never had to retighten it

....This happen to anyone else?
Amazing! In a distorted way, I'm glad to see this has happened to someone else. This happened on my D1SC when I owned it. Not once, not twice, but three times. After the second time, I shipped the head unit and both halves of both broken bolts back to ATI. They told me they had never seen, nor heard of this before.
I tried different torque values and bolts of differing strength -- Grade 5 and Grade 8. None of this mattered. I eventually broke a third bolt.... I then had a mechanical engineer at my employment examine the bolt. The fracture was due to torsional shear. Maybe an ME would be able to explain this in detail as I do not recall the details -- this happened about three years ago.
I seem to have had nothing but bad luck with Procharger from the beginning and Im about ready to mail the whole thing back and go turbo.
Other than the bolt issue, I've had very good results with the D1SC. Ran a sub-12 second pass at 117.62 mph with a 3,900 pound IROC-Z with a 305 TPI making 14-psig boost! But as my sig attests to, I did make a change....:D

Na, it's white. The following website is very outdated but it shows my setup when I was supercharged:

I was able to remove the bolt by drilling a small hole through the center then using an EZ out. It came out in one piece with all three broken bolts.

When I was having this problem, a friend of mine who works for Caterpillar, gave me a couple of Grade 8 bolts that are made by Cat. They are much better quality than your standard Grade 8 bolts. It was at this time that I sold my D1SC. I still have these bolts. I'd be glad to ship them to you at no cost. I also have a spec sheet that details why these bolts are better/stronger. If you'd like me to scan this and send it to you, e-mail me.
