Wet, Dry, Direct...
Direct Port is the best one, obviously... right? haha
But why is Direct Port so much better then Dry?
I understand why Wet Shots aren't the best for LT1s because of the short runners and unequal doses of Nitrous to each cylinder...
But is Direct Port really worth it?
I want a great kit for my car when I spray the 250 shot, but a Direct Port setup cost a lot of freakin money...

Why not do a wet shot with a dry second stage? Wet shots are a whole lot more safe than dry shots on an LT1 unless you do some injectors, fuel pump, etc.
But with a 250 shot you are either going to have to upgrade those components anyways, or get a stand-alone fuel system for it.
Call Harris Speed Works or Nitro Daves. They are both extremely personable and VERY helpful. That's what I did.

They can also help you with a direct port system too now that I think of it.

Even with a dry kit you don't get perfect distribution. I'd say that I would go direct port if I wanted to use 250hp or nitrous, but you can do it easily with a two stage set-up. Which will probably cost just as much as a direct set-up would.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding.
"Direct Port" has nothing to do with "dry" or "wet", it's only about methodology.
You can use a direct port setup that also carries fuel (wet) or you can use one that only carries nitrous and relies on the use of a secondary system such as the cars existing injectors to add the extra fuel. (wet)
Direct port is generally an effective way to get around distribution issues caused by an intake manifold design that is not well suited to good distribution.
As far as the LTx manifold goes, a lot of folks feel safer in placing a single injection point well ahead of the TB, although I know of at least one guy here who uses a TB plate to spray a 300hp dry shot. (Assuming my memory isn't playing tricks on me.)

a TB plate to spray a 300hp dry shot
Wow. I thought jetting wasn't accurate after a 200 HP shot...WOW...I take some risks, but damn.

i run a 250 shot on my LT1, i run it in 2 stages, i spray both through the TB i just changed my plugs and the wear was even across the board.

I personally think it's more even than some tend to claim.

So you think it's worth it to go Direct Port? I want a good nitrous setup, but direct port is just so expensive. My car would also have to be de-commissioned for while.
I want a very efficient Nitrous setup... I know Direct Port would do it... I just want to do know how much crappy another system would be.

Look...
You spent a lot of money on that engine, so whatever you decide, make sure you do it right.
Here's my suggestion: Contact both Nitro Dave & Harris Speed works and ask them to suggest a couple of options for you; one direct port and one non-direct port. Go into depth, spend some time with them on the phone discussing your situation and concerns. Ask all the questions you can think of.
By the time you are done talking to those two guys you should have a pretty good idea of the best way for you to proceed.
