AFter this is connected is this all i need to do for timing retard and Windowswitch?

Its been a while sence I hooked mine up but the The purple wire needs to be hooked up to a 12volt soarce like off the arming swich for the N20. That way when you arm the system it activates that window swich feature of the box. Or maybe its the timing retard that needs the 12 volt soarce. Look in your instruction manul that came with the box it will say

The violet wire is the window switch. It provides ground, not 12V of power. You disconnect the main ground of the nitrous relay, and connect the relay ground wire to the violet wire of the Mallory. The yellow wire is connected to 12V on the activation side of the nitrous relay, and can been done with a wire tap. When the relay sends 12V to the solenoids it will initiate the timing retard.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for correcting me I wasnt sure if it was the 12 volt or ground that the window swich wire conected to. Either way the instruction manual for the mallory box has the details.

They have state-of-the-art digital circuitry with four times faster processing, and the ability to boost the proportional retard capacity with the optional harness.

got that from there description. anyway what harness are they speaking of? before i buy, i would like to know if i need or not.
TIA,
sorry for hijacking thread

I'll tell you what I know about the harness. I just bought the MSD harness for my Mallory 685. If you want one for your 1997 then get the MSD-8877. All it does is keep you from tapping or cutting into a few wires. Some people hard wire the Mallory and don't spend the $30 for the plug and play harness. I just bought one for my 95 dual connection coil (MSD-8876).
