275-50-15 MT drag radial 60ft?

I've decided to try these tires and was wondering what kind of 60ft times people are getting. I should have about 500rwhp and I'm hoping for some good 60ft times. I currently can send a set of 315 35 17 Nittos into smoke at 55 mph but I think its due to not having much side wall. I hope the Mickey Thompsons will cure this traction problem:D

What were your sixties before?

The Mickeys should hook significantly better. That said, depending on power, gearing, and track treatment, if you are going on street nights when lots of street cars are tearing up the starting line then it is possible that not much will help. getting weight transfered efficiently front to back with some loose front shocks and a disconnected or removed front sway bar is a great 'side dish" for tires that have the capacity to hook.

My best 60ft I could get on the nitto 315's was a 1.94

I don't have the best drag setup but I hope to find a set of tires that are sticky enough that I don't have to change my springs and shocks.
I have a eibach prokit and 1Le decarbon shocks on it now which is hurting drag performance. I have full BMR suspension with drop brackets and the pinion is set to -2*.

Is it possible to get a good 60ft on lowering springs? If so what kind of adustable shocks do you recommend for drag racing and street duty? I want the ability to have my car launch or handle well with a simple adjustment of the shocks, is this possible or am I asking to much?

You may want to also look into 255 50 R16s M/T Radials on stock 16x8s...I 60' 1.55 with that set up all day long...As far as springs and shocks I use stock springs, stock Decarbons, and a good selection of Spohn and Hotchkis stuff with a 2.5 deg negative pinion angle...

Or you could go with the huge 325/50/15" ET street Radials that fit in the wheel wells of my T/A perfectly with some massaging of the inner wells and 60' 1.4's all day. If you have enough HP. 1.41 to be exact with my 355" LT1 on n2o. I did better 60's than some race cars with 15x14" slicks on my last track outing. Later Clint

My wifes cam only 99 WS6 Formula went 1.56 on them with a vig 3200 converter. They out 60'ed her previous 10.5x15 et streets by .07

Yeah, Clint I'm looking hard at going with Bogarts and those 325s...I think I can pull those things around with 3.73s and my current set up. It might be time to lose the sleeper look in the quest for 10s...I ran a 10.98 on a Mustang dyno 1/4 mile blast (which is way cool...), but being strapped to the dyno got me a 1.35 60'...If I could pull off a 1.41 things would get interesting...

Definately, you can pull those tires b/c it only hurts my N/A a little. I only have 3.55's and a 355"engine so you should have no problems. I get alot of compliments on the tires and stance. My car will be in GM Hightech Performance pretty soon so you can see for yourself. Later Clint

I consistently 60' 1.47 on the 275-50-15's. I am also interested in seeing the 325's on a F-body.

I have 15x10" Welds with 7.5" BS. I had to remove the rear stopper mount, with a sawzall, just made the area flat instead of bowing out into the wheel well. I put the tire and rim on the car and marked the areas that needed to be clearenced. Mostly in the front at the lower front corner of the well and a little in the rear. Later Clint
