What's the absolute Lowest point for those people who DON'T have longtubes? Currently my car is stockish, and I still loathe speed bumps. Is all that junk supposedta be so low? Or is my undercarriage just saggy?

Lowest Point on a Stock z28?MrDino 04-05-2006, 10:19 PM What's the absolute Lowest point for those people who DON'T have longtubes? Currently my car is stockish, and I still loathe speed bumps. Is all that junk supposedta be so low? Or is my undercarriage just saggy? MasterEvilAce 04-05-2006, 10:27 PM I'd wager the Airdam to be the lowest point, really. It scrapes on everything, but it doesn't matter that it does. It needs to be low jah1542 04-05-2006, 10:41 PM the air dam for sure MarcR94v6 04-05-2006, 11:01 PM Any scraping, even when it sounds pretty bad, is always your air dam. After a while, you know exactly what it is, and it becomes normal to you. GT KILLER 04-05-2006, 11:06 PM I frickin hate that noise......it goes right through me like nails on a chalkboard. Even though I know it's only a piece of plastic that's supposed to be low, it still makes me cringe. But actually, since I replaced mine last summer, I don't think I've scraped it on anything. It doesn't scrape on the speedbumps at school, and I'm very very careful about which roads and driveways I take, whether or not they dip real low. MasterEvilAce 04-05-2006, 11:08 PM I was curious and actually looked at the front bumper awhile ago.. the front end was a bit scratched up on the tip.. there are some retarded driveways and entrances here, so I know it's been hit a few times. Has anyone else looked out of curiosity? GT KILLER 04-05-2006, 11:13 PM I was curious and actually looked at the front bumper awhile ago.. the front end was a bit scratched up on the tip.. there are some retarded driveways and entrances here, so I know it's been hit a few times. Has anyone else looked out of curiosity? I think I have, it's possible something was there but I'm not totally sure. Of course, this was back when I first got the car; the front bumper has since been repainted and I know I haven't scraped it since then. MasterEvilAce 04-05-2006, 11:17 PM Oh, random thought. do LT1 and LS1 front ends hang out the same distance? wdtiger 04-05-2006, 11:54 PM There's certain driveways around town that i scrape my air dam on, mainly the one at my apt complex. haha... and i want to lower mine after i get a season of autocrossing done. LT1 POWR 04-06-2006, 01:42 AM Oh, random thought. do LT1 and LS1 front ends hang out the same distance? I think the front end of the LS1's sit up a little higher because the aluminum engine is lighter. But dont quote me on that, it just looks that way to me. Stoopalini 04-06-2006, 11:22 AM After installing the 1LE suspension on mine, I haven't scraped anymore speedbumps. I'm sure this is due to both sagging stock 110K mile springs and also the 1LE ride height difference. A lot of people like to lower their Fbodys, but I couldn't imagine it being any lower and having to worry about bottoming out all the time. Besides, I like the stance the 1LE package gives .... I think it's more of a classic muscle car look :) Thomas. JaysGone 04-06-2006, 01:01 PM  The lowest point is actually the right side of the tunnel brace:eek: myslowcamaro 04-06-2006, 01:23 PM unless you have aftermarket exhaust, my rumbler only has 3.75" ground clearance with overinflated tires:eek: MrDino 04-06-2006, 03:07 PM After installing the 1LE suspension on mine, I haven't scraped anymore speedbumps. The Metal scrapage sound tells me its not just my air dam. | ||
