T-top insert question...

Where can I get the T-top inserts that go under the glass part of the T-top inside the car to block out the sun (specificly for a 4th Gen)? Does anyone know where I can purchase these, or how much they cost?

I've seen them on E bay for about $30 or so.

They are great! I use mine all the time.

Is there a company that sells them? Or are they only found on Ebay?

Are they an actual GM part? I thought they were only aftermarket. Anyone have a part number?

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I made my own. I NEEDED them with this South Texas sun, and I'm on a budget that's depressingly limited. Cost me about 10 bucks, and might not be as nifty, but sure does keep the sun out.

Could you tell me what you made the inserts from and how did you make them, did you use a template or did you copy the shape from an original set ?
I have tried to make a set myself but could not get the angles right
My next question it it posible for someone to send me a template for these inserts, in paper would be ok, left and right would be nice :)
Am I asking too much ??? hmmm could be !

lol I like to think of it as a glass sauna up here in wisconsin, humidity and about 140* heat in the glass after sitting out in the sun all day.... yea that's a pretty fricken good sauna.

I guess if you go to menards or a hardware store that sells plexiglass, you could slice and dice it into the t-tops shapes, then apply limo tint. and that would be pretty cheap, furthermore if you got yourself a heat gun, you could feasibly mold the plexiglass to the contour of the glass, just be careful and not melt it on.

however I could see it as a profitable business if you got a plastics company like was said earlier to produce them for $12, and then go and sell them for $20, but you'd have to look into the patents and whatnot.

I wouldnt just tint the tops themselves because i got a door off a junkyard car since my door had about a 2" rust hole in it when i bought the car, and that window was tinted, and the glue was stuck on there for awhile, even scrubbing the living 9!$$ out of it with the nastiest industrial 3M adhesive remover and window tint remover there is (I know a few suppliers and got myself some samples ;) )

main thing is that glue tint crap bubbles up and wears out over time, and it sucks to replace it

Gee I did not expect such a big response :) Well I have chosen the tint option at the moment, had a local company help me out and so far am happy with the very dark tint effect. But if anyone has a template or the original t-top inserts I would be happy to pay expenses to mail it to your new friend in Australia ( ME ) LOL.
