are there any drawbacks to obd1. have 95 Z was told by some that you can't make the same power as an obd2 car. Meaning that over a certain power level it has bugs. Is that true? trying to get 600rwhp+ & now tuner is having inj. pulse width problems after 5000rpm's.....joe

P.S. Car is Boosted.

Anybody that says OBD1 cant make as much if not more power than OBDII is full of crapola.
It is also much easier to tune.
I have heard of lots of conversions from OBDII to OBD1, but NEVER from OBD1 to OBDII.

Might be having problems w/ the injectors being too small, what size are you running? Has he adjusted the injector offset vs voltage table to aftermarket injectors if you are using them? And there really is no benefit in going to obd2 vs obd1 besides ease of programming and cost of software to do it. If you are going to do that swap, might go aftermarket ecm.

Ive heard some of the tuners say they get a few more ponies running OBD1 over OBD2. With this much controversy Id say its all bs and run what you have... but OBD1 is going to be considerably cheaper.
