Learning to launch the hawk

Just bought the car last month.
Have not taken it to the track yet.
I haven't been to the track at all in about 5 years.

I have 235x17 street tires on my 93 Firehawk (A4) w/373s.
The previous owner installed
Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs
KYB/AGX 8 Pos shocks
The car sits pretty low, and handles pretty well in the city.

It's my daily driver, and I'd like to figure out how best to
set it up for drag racing on the weekends.

What's the best way to lauch this car?
Should I make any adjustments to the shocks between street/strip?

Long-term, I'd like to look at a higher stall (but still streetable) converter and some M/T DRs. Any other thoughts?

M/T ET radials are a great choice! I use 16x8 stockers with 255 50 R16 ET Radials and they work better than the 17s because of the taller sidewall. Also look at the Vigilante converter. They are very efficient and work fantastic at the track and on the street. They are a bit pricey, but I got 5 tenths at the track with my 3600 and its been great since 1996.

The lowering springs won't help to well with load transfer, and I have no experience with KYBs, but I'd think you'd want the fronts set at the softest setting to help the front come up as best it can at launch, with the rears at the mid-point of their adjustment. The M/Ts like a little heat from a good bunout and then just experiment with your launch rpms...My Vig likes to launch off idle...Good luck, again, beautiful car!
