Ok guys,

My car had a leak in on the waterpump so I would leak all the damn coolant. This was months ago. I know pure water is not the best thing to use instead of coolant, but I was caught in the middle of the road and it helped since it didn't leak.

I don't have much time on my hands ass I have a full time job, part time job, and go to school parttime, so I never really got around to changing the waterpump. As I start checking the system, TONS of what seems to be rust in there. Everything in the radiator looks brown, but its gooey. Kind like mud. At least 2 months ago when I checked it, it was not nearly like it was now. I am switching the waterpump for a new one. The readiator is not more than 4 months old. (Radiator had been leaking too and was changed since I thought the entire problem was there).

My question is, what the hell can I use to cleans the system or is it even possible? Does regular radiator flush do it to clean the radiator? Or does it take to clean this mess up? Or am I screwed?

BTW, don't know if I should post this here or not.

Thanks in advance.

If you accidentally added regular green antifreeze to you car, it would cause a brown slime.

If you had some $$$ to spend, I would just take it to Jiffy Lube or somewhere and get the coolant flushed. A majority of that rust and slime will come out.

It's alot cleaner/easier than flushing it yourself. (not that it is that hard, but it is messy, time consuming, not as efficient, etc as paying someone for them to use their machine on your car)

Ok thanks. I guess its not the end of the world.

So I should doe this flush first BEFORE switching my waterpump? Or After?

What exactly does Jiffy lube do to professionaly flush it with their machine?

Thanks again.

That is why I am asking. I thought their coolant flush was pretty much the same thing one can do in their own garage.

You have too much water mixed with a little dexcool that got exposed to air.
Just get a good full system flush. You have an aluminum engine, DO NOT run on so much water for so long next time.
