Scott...NY Auto ShowBlue89Bird 04-01-2006, 01:41 PM Any plans for an invite only glimpse at the Camaro for us? ChrisL 04-01-2006, 10:29 PM Sorry to say no. He was unable to pull off a "Faithful" reception for NY. He did try, but unfortuantely matters outside of his control killed it. :( 91Z-28 04-01-2006, 10:35 PM That's too bad, I hope I still get to go. My neighbor is a regional something for DaimlerChrysler and he said he gets tickets every year. I really, really want to see this car in person. POWERFREAK 04-01-2006, 11:28 PM I hope to be going...gotta see what the work schedule is like. Hey ChrisL....LETS GO RANGERS! (looking forward to the playoffs). 91Z-28 04-01-2006, 11:31 PM I hope to be going...gotta see what the work schedule is like. Hey ChrisL....LETS GO RANGERS! (looking forward to the playoffs). You go to the summer cruises at Bear Mountain? Fbodfather 04-02-2006, 11:49 PM THE GOOD NEWS: The Camaro concept will be at the New York Auto Show for the entire run. THE BAD NEWS: Couldn't get a private unveil together at the NY show........problems with promoter. 91Z-28 04-02-2006, 11:50 PM THE GOOD NEWS: The Camaro concept will be at the New York Auto Show for the entire run. Blue89Bird 04-03-2006, 08:54 AM Will you be running around Scott? Been looking forward to shaking your hand and thanking you for helping us "Keep the faith" POWERFREAK 04-03-2006, 12:05 PM You go to the summer cruises at Bear Mountain? Yeah...been there a few times with my malibu. It's a good cruise now that they've limited the amount of ricers they let in. Z28x 04-03-2006, 12:17 PM THE GOOD NEWS: The Camaro concept will be at the New York Auto Show for the entire run. THE BAD NEWS: Couldn't get a private unveil together at the NY show........problems with promoter. At least it is there. Any chance you will be getting together with Camaro fans for a drink or two while you are in NYC? Fbodfather 04-04-2006, 01:38 AM Will you be running around Scott? Been looking forward to shaking your hand and thanking you for helping us "Keep the faith" I'll be in New York thru easter sunday morning........the problem is that I am not sure when I'll be available. As you know, NY is a very large show. (the largest in North America based on the number of people thru the show) If you're in the display, ask one of our friendly product specialists......for the most part, they know if I'm lurking! skorpion317 04-04-2006, 02:33 AM I'll be sure to ask for you! and if we can't get a private showing, how about some free posters of the concept for CZ28 members only? :D Big Als Z 04-05-2006, 04:42 AM Scott, I look foward to talking with you on the 12th. One week away, Im amped all over again!! It will be a little over 3 months since I first laid eyes on the Camaro. Love at first sight. Chuck! 04-05-2006, 08:34 AM If you're in the display, ask one of our friendly product specialists......for the most part, they know if I'm lurking! I asked the lady in Cleveland (who wanted me to put in a good word for her, but I forgot her name... it was something with two first names?) and evidently you were there the previous Saturday :( She did say you were a great boss, but seemed confused as to how I'd know who you were. MarineReconZ28 04-12-2006, 09:35 PM I asked the lady in Cleveland (who wanted me to put in a good word for her, but I forgot her name... it was something with two first names?) and evidently you were there the previous Saturday :( She did say you were a great boss, but seemed confused as to how I'd know who you were. I asked a lady in San Jose or LA in 2005 about him and got the same type of response. But When I started talking to her about the Camaro and what we "knew", she didnt want to talk to me anymore, like she knew something but couldnt tell me... It made me wonder how much those people actually know. So I hit her up for a contact to apply for a job. haha. I never called the number she gave me though. She told me I was cute and would make a good model though. :) skorpion317 04-12-2006, 11:16 PM when will you be around on saturday, scott? frey51 04-13-2006, 02:35 PM Hey guys, Luckily I will be in NYC next week for work, and will am planning on going to the show on Monday afternoon once I get settled in my hotel. Just wondering, how hard is it to get tickets at the door? I dont really want to order a ticket online, just incase something comes up work related and I cant make it. Any help...thanks guys. Fry frey51 04-13-2006, 03:22 PM also, is there a reason that on the NYIAS web page, under concept cars, that the Camaro is not listed? That seems like a mistake, and if not I dont think that will boad well for marketing and such. Yet, on the New York Debuts page, the Mustang special edition is on there twice...HMMM is this show a little on the blue side? Fry Even GM's own website coverage of the show doesn't mention the Camaro, so I doubt Ford has anything to do with it. ;) Chrome383Z 04-13-2006, 04:10 PM Stop it with the Winky's. ;) frey51 04-13-2006, 04:33 PM I just was thinking that because Scott said the promotor didnt go with the special showing of the concept. Any ideas about tickets, should I just get them at the door? Thanks Fry EllwynX 04-13-2006, 05:45 PM Hey guys, Luckily I will be in NYC next week for work, and will am planning on going to the show on Monday afternoon once I get settled in my hotel. Just wondering, how hard is it to get tickets at the door? I dont really want to order a ticket online, just incase something comes up work related and I cant make it. Any help...thanks guys. Fry Same here. I'm supposed to go Monday, but don't want to buy tickets online just in case. It's 3 hours from where I live, so I hope it's easy to get them at the door. The Camaro IS going to be there right? The silver one? It's my biggest reason for going, if it wasn't there I wouldn't bother. POWERFREAK 04-13-2006, 07:29 PM I can't imagine the camaro NOT being there...isn't it the biggest show in the country? I havn't gone in a few years, but I don't remember it being a problem getting tickets at the door...on monday you shouldn't have a problem, I would think there would be bigger crowds on the weekends. I'll be there Tuesday morning to see my next car:D ChrisL 04-14-2006, 01:40 AM We just got back from the show. Yes, the silver concept is there, and will be for the duration of the NY show. Tickets at the door... there can be lines, but they will sell all the tickets they can. Just buy them online the morning youre leaving. Some quick pics courtesy of Dave Hamburger, since he left earlier than we did, he got some online already. I love this car more and more everyday. http://imageevent.com/davidhamburger/nyautoshow POWERFREAK 04-14-2006, 01:56 PM wow...pix look great. Did it look even better in person? How about the Challenger? ChrisL 04-14-2006, 02:31 PM I was fortunate enough to be in Detroit, but yesterday, we were afforded the opportunity to get a more intimate look at the Camaro. As just about everyone has been saying... the pictures do not do the Camaro justice. You just HAVE to go see it in person. Challenger is there... and I feel the same way as I did when I saw both concepts in Detroit. The Challenger is nice. I like it.... despite being so big and heavy... but compared to the Camaro... well, to me, the Challenger just seems bland... the Camaro eminates so much more energy and the Mustangs.... LOL. They are a distant thrid in my pecking order. Oh, Ford has the GT-350H there. 330HP. Gee, welcome to 1997 Ford. :D '99 SS 04-14-2006, 05:07 PM As just about everyone has been saying... the pictures do not do the Camaro justice. You just HAVE to go see it in person. Anyone with the opportunity to go to NY and see the concept in person should make the effort. You WILL NOT be disappointed. I'm still whiping the drool from my mouth after seeing the concept yesterday. :D | ||
