I know I don't know alot of you but I need a favor. Please pray for my father tonight. He will be undergoing pypass surgery and possible heart valve surgery soon. :cry:

My grandfather just went thru a similar surgery a few months back...he pulled thru fine.

Chuck,

My ole' man has had 4 heart attacks.. two massive, two not so massive, a stroke, and bypass surgery.. so I probably understand what you're worried about.

I dont think there's much I can say to reaassure you if you feel like I did about it, but these procedures ARE done all the time, and chances are, your dad will be a-okay.

30 years ago I would be worried , but with todays technology these surgeries are a piece of cake.
He will be flirting with the nurses in no time ;)

Although it never hurts to ask the Big guy upstairs to hold our hand in a time like this.
I will talk to him this evening.

Thanks everyone!!! Dad is doing pretty good. He went under the knife thursday morning and had triple bypass and a valve repair. He was alittle slow getting off of the respirator because he had alot of liquid in his lungs and he smoked a couple packs a day. He woke up friday night/saturday morning and the breathing tube came out saturday morning around 6:30. Today he walked across the ICU room and they put him back in a regular room. He should be home by the end of the week :) Anyway High Point Reginal has a great cardio unit :)

Mikie, My mom had open heart surgery 30 years ago to repair a hole in the heart and a damaged valve. Dad was with her then and saw all that went on afterwards with physcial therapy and such. I think that it helped him alittle knowing things have gotten better over the years.

Well the Draper family is sleeping alittle easier tonight.
