Finally got the new motor to the track. Street tires and did not have the bottle hooked up.

Some how ran a 15.0 @108, then a 13.3 @ 112 with a 2.5 60' :)

I know it will run awesome once I get it to the ground. High 11s and 115mph+ are within reach I am sure.

I only got a few passes before I threw a belt and shredded some plug wires on the pass side.

WOT in 1st or second is impossible. It breaks loose in 3rd and still chirps 4th hard.

Our track is concrete so maybe thats part of it too :)

Guess its time to give up on street tires.

New motor if anyone cares:
Eagle 357 assymbly.
5.7" h beams
srp -5cc pistons
eagle 3.50" crank
gm 847
heads ported by local shop, valve job, bigger valves
ported intake
electric water pump
2.5" duals with flowmaster 40 series on each side

I had the same thing with my street tires. It is hard for them to provide proper traction with 375 rwhp.

I think I am going to pick up a set of MT slicks for the next time I hit the track.

Cool now it's time to find the next weekest link ... bwahahahaha!

All kidding aside, check the u joints. Makes sure everything is tight. If you hook with the tires something will break especailly with the 4 spd but I am here to tell you it is fun.

Street tires don't hook at stock power levels.. not sure why you'd think they'd hook with that much oomph in front of 'em ;)

You are now on the road to perdition. Once you get good tires on it, all the other weak points will be exposed. Stuff like borken trannies and rear ends, twisted torque arms, driveshafts, axles, and so on.

Have fun and enjoy the ride!
