sfcs for convertibles95LT1conv 03-22-2006, 06:19 PM does anyone know if the stock sfc needs to be removed before an aftermarket can be installed? 95 badbird 03-22-2006, 07:09 PM Stock 4th gen fbodies don't have sfc's (I don't know that any stock fbody ever did). The 4th gens have a weak x brace. Being that you have a convertible a set of aftermarket sfc's will be a big help to you. Get em . 95LT1conv 03-22-2006, 07:59 PM the x brace is what i was talking about. does it have to be removed? TobyZ28 03-22-2006, 08:14 PM stock 4th gen verts have factory subframes.. not the beefiest but they do have them. 95LT1conv 03-22-2006, 08:44 PM Does It Need To Be Removed?????????? TobyZ28 03-22-2006, 09:24 PM From what Ive seen no, they reinforce what the stock subframes lack, and tie the centers together. I think the X brace does need to be removed. I dont have them myself so i cant say for sure :( 95 badbird 03-24-2006, 12:19 AM No the x brace doesn't need to be removed in order to have typical sfc's installed. However if you went with Double diamond (DD) SFC's then you might need to remove the x brace. | ||
