Hello,
This is my first post!:) Just got done installing the hyd roller cam 230/236 .510/.520, some Edelbrock RPM heads along with Scorpion roller rockers. The 7.2 pushrods will work perfect. Is it OK to use new, stock pushrods with the guide plates? Spring pressure is 320 open and 120 on the seat. Thanks!

It will be ok if you new stock pushrods are Hardend. You can only use hardend pushrods with guide plates.
Where did ya get your pushrods?

I picked em up at the machine shop where I buy my engine parts. The guy there said, "he thought they'd work for my application". I believe they are made by Pioneer for an '91 Camaro. The part number is PR373. Ran a file over the pushrod surface and couldn't scratch it, so they are hardened.

Take the safe route and get a set of head treated pushrods. They are only about 100-150$. Friend of mine did his rebuild, and snapped a pushrod thanks to his extra 100hp that he put into his engine.

I picked up a set of Summit Brand Heat treated one piece 7.2 rods for 75 new. I love them.

Yep, Summit high end pushrods, that's what I just ordered. Now I won't have to worry!
