Maroon Metallic With TT2s, How Does It Look?

I am looking at getting a set of Torque Thrust II wheels for the car. I was wondering how they would look on a Maroon Metallic car?

I like My Fikse FM5's byut I figure I could pocket about $1,000 If I sell them and get the TT2s. That gets me closer to the STS Turbo setup I am look at getting ASAP.

Your thoughts?

TT2's are played out... Yes they look good on just about any car, but come time for the woodward cruise you're gonna see too many of them around.

Keep the Fikse's..

ok yes there is a few f-bodies with TT2's out there but i dont see that many most of the people are running 17's or smaller is see which look not too good. im running 18's think it looks great on black car would like to run a 19 or 20 on back just because the rear wheels look smaller than the fronts just how the body line works. it just deponds on who you are everbody love the wheels on my car. I hate camaros with crome bling bling rims or even crome not my style give me a polish or even better black center with polished lip that looks hot on anything given the right side of wheel compared to car

LOL, I mean that I could get like $1900+ (These were $3,200 new) for the Fikses, buy a set of TT2s for about $900 and pocket about $1,000 for more power

Or, I could trade for a nice set of 17" rims + Cash.

Thanks,

Bill

hmmm heres something for you to think about get a 17x11 rear rim with the correct back spacing and put a 335/35/17 hoozier tire on like i did they look tuff and there 12.4 wide and yes i did have to notch the frame rails but he only charged $500 and did a excellent job.

I like TT2's much better on 93-97 Camaros than 98+.

My favorite 98+ rims are Z06 replicas; C5 Z06 wheels look sweet, but C6 Z06 looks even better. Not too many of the latter rolling around yet.

It would be nice to be able to keep the Fikse's and still get the STS turbo. What would you do if you could keep the Fikse's and no STS Turbo this year. Or, get TT2s and get the STS Turbo sometime around June?

Tough Question....... Look Good or Look Decent and run solid mid 11's all day long?

Thanks, Bill

Bill your car is built for the STS turbo.. The only way its going to be happy is with a STS Turbo :)

Trust me the Fikse's are awsome.

But its not like someone is going to go ewww.. Torque Thurst II's when your running low 11's on street tires..

you know you wanna hear that thing spoolin' on a already fast car

alll good points, but, same reason Im not selling my budniks (unless I change my mind and make my car a drag/street car instead of drag/street/roadcourse car). they are VERY expensive to buy again, and therefor prolly wont ever come up with the money to buy again because I understand your logic.

but, if I were in your shoes, I dont know how Id make that call either.

keep the fiske's and skip the turbo this year.

if you really need more power, maybe a little n2o for this summer?

remember, your compression ratio is pretty crappy for FI. that and the possibility of a trans, rear, new tune, bigger injectors, fuel pump, etc is gonna be a lot more than just the 3500-5500 sts kit. or whatever they cost.

yeah, thats what I was thinking. if it were me, and I wanted to go turbo, Id get some 5.3L ported heads that would lower the compression back down and still flow alot of air and do the turbo after that.

6.0L truck heads already to go with the setup. I am not talking about doing the turbo without doing it right. I am hoping to start out with about 6lbs.

Actually, I need to bring my car out to you at the dealership for an oil change and inspection.

Thanks,

Bill

Hey Rod, how's it going. Hope your winter was good? Breaking your car out soon? Is it in TX?

I have 6.0 L heads ready to go with the setup and have the upgraded fuel pump and injectors. The thing I would need to do would be a tune.

I like the Fikse's just would love a little more speed on demand. + I hate that the rims have been almost stolen a couple times.

Later,

Bill

ouch on the almost stolen wheels. or maybe ouch that they weren't stolen.
a guy I know with a ws6 had his wheels stolen, and got almost 3000 for those wheels and tires from the insurance co. lol.

ok, good to hear about the lowering compression etc.

umm, if I was going to change the wheels, to be honest I would do it for more performance where you will need it. traction. a nice set of prostars in a 15" with 275/60/15 et street radials would be killer.

my car is actually at Al's house in charlotte for the winter. still haven't gotten to putting the shortblock in it, and I need a ton of other stuff. Heads, some suspention stuff, gaskets, fuel pump, to go to a 2 pump setup, hotwire kit, retune, new tires. on and on and on.

priority is getting the mustang running, so I can park the saab for the summer.

know of a money tree I can pick?

Don't know of a money tree but do know that if you want to help put my STS on I will make it worth your while, TAX FREE MONEY.

I am waiting on my quote from STS...... Went with Meth Injection option. I was told that that actually puts the Octane up to well over 120 when it is being injected? + that it cools the charge.

I was told that even at 4lbs of boost it would take me from 405RWHP to about 480RWHP and about the same TQ. Any clue is this is true? + it would be super safe at 4Lbs.

Thanks,

Bill

cant see why it wouldn't be safe at 4 psi. I see no reason why you couldn't run 7-10 psi on meth and keep it safe.

As to whether it will make that much power, I dont know. sounds a little high. Unless your having the lq9 heads ported decently. I mean, you do have a cam, intake and headers, but they dont mean quite as much on a turno car, imo.

to give you an example, when I first got my car from ARE, it made 445 /460 on 5-5.5 psi. and this is through a man trans. after all the testing Harlan did, I think he saw that the Incon turbo's would add about 27-34 rwhp on a stock motor (depending on tune). My car made ~320 + (5psi * 27) = 455. so 4psi, with the removal of your heads and all else being the same, through an auto might only be +100 hp. BUT if your can would only make 360/70 w/o heads, your still close.

The meth / water alchy option sounds like a great idea, and I plan on a setup for my motor when it goes together. if this option is without an innercooler; I would go with an innercooler 1st. maybe. what size turbo are you looking at?

also on the install thing, doing some work on it could def happen.

hey bill, bring it whenever your ready. wanna check out the ride anyways. as for an intercooler, I think the meth. would be plenty good if your staying around 5-7psi. if your gonna go higher, then the innercooler would be a def. bonus. but at the cost of losing the front bumper under the fascia, and alot of time/money/custom piping. meth is very cold, and spraying it will lower inlet temps and raise the octane. so its a win/win ya know? also, I dont think your stock shortblock would put up with anymore then that anyways.
and I def. like rods idea of the pro stars with ET street radials. but thats just me. ;)
you still got those shop lights hangin around for me? I still want them, and if there in the way I can come get them sooner then later.
