No, it's not quite back up yet, but you can get an idea of the new look it'll have by checking out the new banner... :thumb:

Yeah, I love the preview, can't wait to see what the rest will look like. About damn time, that message board needed to be revamped

It should do wonders for that site. vBulletin is top notch message board software. I made the switch on my site back in the fall (from phpBB).

A few things wrong with the banner. It should have a pic of a camaro AND a firebird. That gauge cluster looks like its from a 4th gen camaro but it sure isn't a 150mph cluster guage (maybe its in KPH). Then it says "3rd Gen" and not "Third Gen" on the gauges.

It is from a 4th gen. Where it says "3rd Gen" in the pic, it says 30th Anniversary in a 4th gen.

I thought the 4th gen cluster was odd too.

Yeah, WTF is up with using a pic of a 4th gen cluster? They should use a 3rd gen cluster off an IROC with the 145 mph speedo. I'll send them a photo of mine if they want.

one concern with them using a 4th gen cluster and a few of the other odd changes is will thirdgen.org still cater only to the thirdgen camaro/firebird set. They need to include 3rd gen F-bodies of all make (camaro/firebird) and only have thirdgen f-body related items on the site, else it is not really thirdgen oriented anymore. I hope they contiunue on with the same posting rules where it has to be thirdgen related.. alot nicer that way since you do not have to wade through all the other info to find what you want.. the site is big enough already

yea i hope they don't cater to 4th gens as well, there are TONS of sites dedicated to them

Remember 4th gen dashes are swappable into thirdgens with modification. Actually a lot of 4th gen stuff is swappable. Thats one of the things that make thirdgens unique. That could have been one direction in that half of the banner. It doesn't matter too much because i'm sure the revived site will make up for the banner by far.

To me the banner looks more like a combination of 2nd and 4th gens. Anyways, it would be cool if everyone on TGO knew to come over to the 3rd gen section of camaroz28.com as a temporary hang out whenever TGO goes down. Go now, and tell all your TGO friends!

90-92 145mph speedo cluster would be perfect. That is my favorite looking gauge cluster out of any F body.

Anybody notice that thirdgen.org and cz28.com are both copyrighted by Jelsoft Enterprises? Does the person/s who own cz28.com now own thirdgen.org?

Okay I feel dumb :o Someone on thirdgen.org mentioned it. Anybody know who the new owners are?

Angelis83LT

Not sure who the new owners are, but i am sure you can e-mail them and find out lol.. Lots of sites have a "legal" page that has all the copyright info on it and expains who holds what copyright for which portion. On a side not.. I really do wish TGO would get going again lol.. never seen a site down so long after a transfer lol but i do suppose it can happen if they try to completely rebuild the site from the ground up. However running the site and creating a second and then just importing the database into it would have been a much easier task i think if it were a total revamping. I tyhink only maybe a day or so of downtime given if they were using the same type of database.

sounds like it won't be back up until monday now. what is that up and down for 3 weeks now?

Angelis83LT
03-19-2006, 12:40 AM
yea about... something about the search function not working or something.. which is probably due to a database change, and the scripts written for one will not work for the other, and causes a crash when the search is run or attempted probably comes along saying something like database query error or somthing

It's incovenient for me since I only log in to make a post, which isn't all that often. And you don't need to be logged in to view the pictures on this site.

the biggest pain in the neck about it is there is noe "view new posts" link .... The is essential... a must have thing for a forum that large... else you will spend more time looking for new posts really than actually reading them... and Every forum has that option... not sure why thiers does not.....

Hey guys... been around here for a long time, but decided i needed a name change to match the new car... Been over on TGO for a LONNNNGGGG time - before all the hub bub and other 3rdgen sites spun off... It's a great place, and im sure nobody would mind a suggestion or two :)

Hope to see ya there - my name over there is still my old one - fb305svs...
