Question What size injectors?

I am wanting to get my Z Dyno-tuned but I want to get a few things done first. I am fairly new with the LT1 some I need some advice? I'm running with a 6# powerdyne supercharger and a 58mm throttle body. I've been told that I would benifit form some larger injectors, but what size? Also, what are your opinions about a Madz28 tune? Also, I welcome any other suggestions for mods on my car. Can you ever have enough?

Re: What size injectors?

I would venture to say that you would benefit from some 30# injectors or maybe even some 48# ones depending on your setup. Talk to whoever is doing the tuning for you, or at least someone that is familiar with tuning on LT1's for a more exact guess. That will be your best route

Re: What size injectors?

Thanks for the offer on the headers, but I've got some ordered. Just got this car about months ago and I couldn't figure out why it didn't already have headers. I got a sweet deal from a friend that works at certain place you might be able to guess, but I'm getting the ceramic coated Hooker Super Comp. LT's with the Hooker Y pipes and the Hooker cat-back exhaust all for about $500.00.

Hey I dont want to jack your thread but I dont want to start a new thread for the same question. I'm also thinking of running 6psi of boost. But its on a 305 (for now) would you recommend the 30# injectors for that also? I would also need a pump, the injectors, and a FPR correct? I've done all my homework but i'm real skeptic on the fuel side.

Re: What size injectors?

Guys, you honestly don't even "need" an injector upgrade with your setups, the FMU on stock or 24# SVO injectors should be fine. However, if you'd rather fine tune and get rid of the FMU (good idea really), then going with 30's or 42's is a better option. The diaphram in the FMU will sometimes fail, making the fuel go lean and causing detonation. Whether you go with 30's or 42's ...or even bigger will depend on what your ultimate plans are. With proper injector constant in the tuning MPG will be unaffected by injector size. IMO it's best to go with 42's as you have less stress on the fuel system that way and you're prepared for more growth (+'d boost, heads, cam, etc). Going larger than 42 requires something special but I forget what that is ....

Re: What size injectors?

So really just the pump with the stock injectors/FMU would be sufficient? Would I need a FPR? I'm sorry to ask such newbie questions and it feels like I haven't even tried, but there are soo many different threads and opionions on fuel and every vehicle is different it gets confusing.

Ok, I want to run 6lbs of boost. What turbo size, charge pipes, cooling, oiling, all that I am fine on. The only thing I am confused on is my fuel. What would you recommend needing for fuel for 6lbs? If its a really good idea to do something I dont mind spending the money, but if its not a "HAVE to HAVE" or really cheap I'd like to leave it out. As money is an object. Just not enough of an object to blow my motor. That'll just cost me more money in the long run. Thanks

CG4743, I am sorry for jacking your thread. I only asked here to save bandwith and such because it seemed your question was already answered. If i'm stepping on your toes just say the word and i'll open up my own thread or something.

Re: What size injectors?

Black Rabbit you are not bothering me. I'm very new with a fuel injected engine and not the best with engines period, so I enjoy reading anything I can. I'm a carpenter by trade and I need a hobby away from wood. As aggravating as it is sometimes, it is very stress relieving to me (working on my car that is).
