Joe K. 96 Zeee!! 03-12-2006, 06:01 PM I have a few old Camaro commercials. This one is by far my favorite. I believe it was shown in movie theatres. It's very simple, but to the point. The car is made impresive without spinning tires and exciting footage. It would be nice to see something like this for the 5th gen. Updated to fit the times of course.

This one isn't F-body, it's GTO. I forget the name of the band featured, but the whole commercial is dated beyond belief. Funny and quircky!!
Putfile won't upload it for some reason. Grrr...anyone know another good hosting site? Or some other place to host it???
I also have an '82 Firebird promo video that's very good. It's about 10 minutes long. I need to find a program to splice it into 3 pieces as it's 57Mb as it now stands.
fasteddie94 03-12-2006, 07:24 PM The only one I ever remember seeing was the two kids listening to the cars pass and guessing what they were. Those are all new to me.
6LITEREATER 03-12-2006, 07:37 PM I can't get the Trans-Am ones to work :(.

I remember seeing that once. I was trying to find it, but no luck yet.

They're quicktime format. I seem to be playing them ok off the link.

Gotcha, installing now... thanks!
6LITEREATER 03-12-2006, 08:01 PM Got it, AWESOME.
6LITEREATER 03-12-2006, 08:04 PM Holy crap GM made some LAME commercials!!!
The only kind of cool ones are the Trans-Am ones yet they still don't compare to the Mustang Steve McQueen commercial...
The rest are SOOOOOOOOOOOO cheesy.... even for the 80's and 90's!!!
No wonder the cars didn't sell... I wouldn't have bought one either if I'd seen half those commercials first.
Joe K. 96 Zeee!! 03-12-2006, 08:07 PM OK...here's the GTO Commercial:

Yeah, that's the only one I'd ever seen too. They were new to me as well.

I agree the Trans Am ones were the best of the bunch there, but does a commercial really influence you so much that it would cause you not to purchase something?
I mean, if you liked the Camaro in whatever year the cheesy commercial ran, why would a bad commercial make you no longer like it?
I just don't let anything other than my tastes change my opinion on something I guess.

You misunderstood. I am referring to someone who has no clue what a Camaro is except what they see in the commercial. If those commercials were all I had to go off of I would not be interested.
GM needs tp capture the excitement and kinship we feel about our cars in their commercials they way Ford has with the Mustang.
6LITEREATER 03-13-2006, 01:39 AM I would love to see the following commercial:
We hear the old "western music" (that odd whistle). We see a bunch of Mustangs "out to pasture" (a bunch of Ford Mustangs in an open field with a desert road).
We hear a rumble as we see the new CAMARO coming up the road, appearing from a hill MIRAGE style (heat distorting the image).
The Mustangs whip around all facing the CAMARO now (like scared animals).
Western music stops, now all we hear is the roar of the CAMARO's engine.
The CAMARO takes off after the "herd" as all the Mustangs take off in the other direction.
The CAMARO easily comes up the center, overtakes the Mustangs, gets ahead of them and whips around to face them again.
The Mustangs slam on their brakes sliding up only feet away from the CAMARO with one Mustang stopping in front of it FACE to FACE.
The CAMARO revs it's engine again, the Mustang takes off scared and the chase begins again....
We hear...
"CAMARO
RECLAIMING THE ROAD"
Joe K. 96 Zeee!! 03-13-2006, 07:57 AM There were 2 other Camaro commercials that I saw in '97-'98 for the LS1 car. One was a heritage commercail with pictures of Camaro's through the years. The second had a group of Harley riders that made room for a Camaro to pass when it closed from the rear. They weren't shown very often and the TransAm commercials clearly overshadowed them.
Here are 2 more I found...One is for a V6!

6LITEREATER 03-13-2006, 03:26 PM At least they're better than this Mustang ad:

If that was in digitized quality, it would be awesome. That is the commercial that everyone has been looking for.
Did you take that footage and upload it or did you just find these on that site?

They are replacing the Bullitt with the Brokeback.

No, I can't take credit for the footage. The quality is pretty lousy, but it's all I could find. I've been looking for older commercials, specifically those for the f-body for a while now. I posted what I could to putfile since it's easier to distrubute them. I don't know if you can download them from putfile. If you can't download them and want them for the site, I could try to find a way to get them to you.
