best aftermarket shifter

hey guys whats the best aftermarket shifter for my 93z M6? i wanna have a better feeling to the shifting and be able to slam gears harder and faster. It just seem like the throws are so long on my stocker, so let me know what you think.

Re: best aftermarket shifter

This has been talked about a lot, do a search and find out all you want to know. I personally like the 5.0 myself.

Re: best aftermarket shifter

From what i've read there are 2 that most people buy.
1. Pro 5.0 Shifter
2. B&M Ripper

I got the Pro 5.0 and it is wicked nice. It cuts the throws of the shifts down and has some feature to help with the 2-3 gear shift. Also the handle is interchangable so you can throw a smaller or shorter shifter handle on it. Lou's Short Stick. Where as the B&M one is a solid piece (if i remember correctly) that can't be shortened. Both are about the same price and can be found on www.thunderracing.com, or www.tbyrnemotorsports.com

Also the hurst shifter is good to, but I haven't read that much about it. Maybe someone else can chime in with it.

I'd recommend the Pro 5.0 though...its worth it.

I went with the 5.0, and it's AMAZING. When I first got it, I kept thinking I was going into 3rd instead of 1st, but nope, the throws are just that short. I also got it with a 6.5" WS6 Store short stick.

Re: best aftermarket shifter

I have the hurst billet plus and i really like...but as the other gentlmen said the pro 5.0 has gotton exellent feed-back along with the B&M Riper shifter..and they are all priced out pretty much the same, so really its all in personal preferance, I havent herd a complaint any of the three

Pro 5.0
The Pro 5.0 is the only shifter that has stop bolts on it. All you have to do is adjust the bolts and they will prevent you from overshifting and bending shift forks in the tranny. I got mine from Afterthoughtsauto.com with the lou's short stick. They are the only site I know of that sells the Lou's short stick. There is also a combo pack that includes the two together so you won't waste any extra money.
