Raped modded 04 Mach 1

Just thought I'd share my only highlight of last weekend :) .

It was the first night I had my Z out b/c ive been waiting for the insurance to go through so I could go get tags for it. This is a guy we hang out with all the time at the "get togethers" around town. He's got an 04 Mach 1,Lt's,OR H-pipe,flows,3.55's,150 shot (i think),tuner and CAM 2.

Raced from a stop twice and i pulled like 4 cars easy...my car is hard to see out of with race seats and a 10 pt. cage...but I know it was bad.

He never asked me or my friends what I had under the hood,he just knows ive been putting it together for a lil while now. After the race we stopped at Wawa and he asked what I was running and what shot I had. He about fell over on the sidewalk when I told him I wasnt sprayin and that it was just a cam only big block.

Oh yea,we did run a couple times from a 40-ish roll (those Mach1 guys like this speed) and it was closer those races....obviously b/c ive got 4.11's and a 3 speed awfulmatic.

I certainly wouldn't want to start a race at 40 mph, but to each his own. FYI, those 3.55's of his are stock.

Race gas,not sure what octane though.

Why would the guy be running CAM2? He has no power adder or anything to justify it. Matter of fact, it will slow him down. Not making excuses for him just trying to understand why the hell someone would run race gas in a non power-adder car.

You obviously have NO clue what you are talking about.

The Mach 1 is quite different than an 01 Cobra in every way. Different gears (which are 3.55's by the way). Live axle in the Mach and IRS in the Cobra. Differents cams,heads,tranny,etc. I swear a little research wouldn't hurt cha at all. BTW good kill to the poster.

Cam 2 is like 5.25 a gallon around my area, smells damn good when it's burned :metal:

AS for Cobra/Mach's The mach is defintly setup better for the 1/4 with solid axle and 3:55's right off the assembly line.. Stupid IRS :no:

I'd crawl into a hole.The new Machs run the same times as that of the 01 cobras mid-high 13s. Revvin' Evan Smith (MM&FF) sent a Y2K SS M6 to 12.80s on factory 3.42s and goodyear eagle f1s. 6-8 year old pushrods still gettin better MPG than the "new-tech" OHC motors? Still runnin better times? Damn... so what was with the use of OHC again? The LS1 is a LEV engine in C5 corvette trim to add onto that...

M6 Mach I's will run low-mid 13's, bone stock.
Supposedly, a few have squeaked into the 12's, but I don't have first-hand knowledge of the details.
And the fuel-economy of the LSx cars is just as attributable the the tranny/final drive gearing as the engine.

The Mach 1's only came in M5's or Auto's. They are faster than the previous 99-01 Cobra's stock.

I respect both cars for their own strengths and weaknesses. I do not respect people blinded by brand loyality or just plain ignorance. It seems that the thought of Ford's 281ci N/A engine running with GM's 348ci (or whatever)is a little to hard for you to swallow.

I bought it in January off eBay.
The motor was already done with a 218/218 cam, Champion heads/intake and it had bolt-ons including a 3" DP, 42's, 340lph pump, big-neck intercooler, etc.. However, it's got a stock turbo on it. Car runs strong and I'd say it's a solid mid-12 second car right now on pump gas. I TE44 should get it into the 11's pretty easily.
I'll probably be selling it in a few months if you're interested!

If your car was a V8, it was a GTA. They share most cosmetic and interior parts with the TTA's.

I do have bolt-ons & weight reduction though... ;)

If your car was a V8, it was a GTA. They share most cosmetic and interior parts with the TTA's.

My best pass to date is 12.13 @ 116 mph with a 1.75 60'. The shot is actually a 100 shot to the wheels. Traction was a problem because I run the same 60' w/o the gas. I just upped the shot to a real 125hp jet and hope to run a few 11 sec. passes at the shootout later this month. It runs 12.9's n/a.

Not true.

3:55's are the stock gear ratio's and thats part of the combination that makes it so mean in the quarter.

Beating a mach with a 125 is a pretty good running machine becasue the mach should have been a low 12 second car with those mods.
