02 SS vert vs 05 GT

I just bought my 02 SS vert m6 from the dealership I work at and the car looked bone stock. It came from auction so I have no history but the clean Carfax. I ran my boss's 05 Mustang GT stick which has 4:10's, Airaid, Diablo tuned, and who knows what else. First we went head's up and I beat him by at least 4 carlength's, Than I let him leave and still pulled at least 4. The only thing I had done to the SS was a set of 6 year old Nitto's I had left over from a C5 I had a while ago. What the HELL is that all about? Is my car a freak? We are both long time Drag Racer's and the driver's are not the issue. His car ran 13.76 bone stock at E-Town last year but has'nt been back after the mod's. I'm going to the track in a week or two and am expecting a 12.90 or low 13 second pass from the SS. Any insight on why my car is soo much faster than his?

Easy.......Your car is faster. Your car is a low 13 sec maybe high 12 car and his is mid to high 13's. Yours traps 108 to his 101ish.

I've seen a stock '02 SS with DR's run 12.9's all night long. Like he said above...no freak here, you're just faster.

That just goes to show that convertibles arent THAT much heavier. 90#'s.

They only run about a 10th slower than hard tops. LS1 > 4.6
