l i finally got my car done about two months ago and dyno'd it. It put down a measly 330 to the wheels, but was way rich. So all i did to the madz28 tune was disable closed loops so the o2 sensers wouldn't f things up. It runs a little better but still needs alot of tuning.
Enough about my car. This guy who lives in my small town bought a 01 gt thinks its the baddest car around. It has a forged bottom end, ported heads, cams, and a vortec supercharger on at 9 psi. Im unsure if it is intercooled or not. He said it put down 520 rwhp:rolleyes: . The only mod im sure of is the sc and it is pushing 9 psi he does have a boost gauge. He had been talking all kind of crap around town and i really didnt want to race to bad because cops are all over the place around here.
But....earlier today he drove by my house(residential area with no stop signs, just yeild to the rightaway) gunning it to about 60-70 mph. I barely saw him, by the time i had go to the window he was at the top of the street. It kinda pissed me off. So i decided to start up my car, that, had been sitting for a month cause of snow. I filled up the tires and got some gas. Then i went to talk to my friend in the gas station. He found me there and wanted to go run, so i accepted. He called up his friend to go watch, and sit at a 1/4 mile from the start point.
I heated up the et streets a little, but only the drivers side spun(stock 110k ten-bolt with 4.10s). He then proceeded to heat up his street tires:rolleyes: . He told me his friend would flash his lights when it was time to go. So i sat at idle and waited for the lights. I saw em flash but was unsure if how many flashes there were gona be, but he went. So i nailed it and spun the driver's et alittle, but i still hooked alright and pulled way in front of him. Now im about at the 1/8 and i have a 2 car lead on him, but with him catching up. he finelly gets to my rear bumber and has his nose at my door right as we pass his friend. I think it was alittle longer than a 1/4 cause i had to shift into 4th before it was over and hit about 130 mph.
I really didnt think i was gona win. If he had some better tires it would have been different, but i can't launch too hard on the ol' ten-bolt and my car needs loads more tuning. Oh and i also know im gona need a tranny soon cause mine doesnt like shifting into 3rd too well.
