I dont wanna bash your friend but for my taste i think that 20 inch on a f-body is fugly ;)
DontMixWithRice 02-23-2006, 02:51 PM you guys are nuts....20's nothing less...
It makes the car look sick....and down in Miami...you gotta ride high...
jcamere94z28 02-23-2006, 04:12 PM uh??? what are you smoking??? 20'??? don't tell me you also have that little "chrome" sticker on the side that says 20"
20 on a F-body is very optional... and very few 20 inch wheels look right.
I would suggest you stick to 18 or 19 max if you want traction.. if you all about the looks and what's cool.. go for 20s or bigger...

I've been looking at going to Replica Z06s like your cars. 18s on the back and 17 for the front, for the back I was told I need spacers, where did you get yours? Or am I being lied too.
Violat0rX 02-28-2006, 12:31 AM Here's my car on 19" ROH Drift R rims. I had originally bought them used from a BMW owner hoping that they would fit on the GTO, however that didn't work out too well. The offset of the front and rear wheels are about the same and they stuck out on the goat, but the camaro can fit a larger range of offsets.
They are narrower than my other rims, so I don't know if I'm going to keep them yet.

I have 18x9.5 all the way around with 53mm of backspace. I don't use spacers. Maybe someone else can chime in who has a staggered set up. How wide and what is the bacspace on the Z06 Replicas you are looking at?

275/35/18. You can go wider if you want. I didn't really look at all but I'm sure you can get a rubber band if you want :) Maybe a 315/30 or 335/25, you will pay an arm and a leg tho.

Depends on how wide the wheels are...
blackztpi 03-10-2006, 11:53 PM obviously, everybody has different styles. the drift r's look nice in the charcoal. i'd have to go 18x10. 20's are for show. i think they are nasty as hell on our cars.

IMO, 17" is good, 18" is pushing it, and 19" or more is hideous, on 4th-gen F-bodies.
To each his own, but yikes.

With the correct style of rim 18s are definitely not pushing it. That said I wouldn't go bigger.
94BlackBowtie 03-22-2006, 03:13 PM whats a good cheap way to lower my car that wont sacrifice handling?
I went with an Eibach ProKit set of springs on mine and nothing else, and improved handling.
Got them on eBay for a very good price.
It's a 1.5" drop, which sits pretty good. See the pic in my sig...I can get you others if necesarry.
JakeRobb 03-22-2006, 03:23 PM lbrowne, I still think your wheels are too big. It's just my opinion, and I don't mean to offend, but I didn't want you to go around thinking that everyone in the world likes your wheels. I also think you're about 3/4" too low. Don't the wheels rub if you hit a bump in the road?

Tires never rub. To each their own. I certainly don't think that everyone in the world loves my wheels - but since you're the first to say I'm sure theres more out there somewhere! :) For you to think I drive around smuggly thinking everyone envies my rims is either naive or ignorance on your own part - not mine.
I don't mean to offend, really, it's just actual fact of what everyone says about my car. Take it for what its worth, I don't really care - I love the look and that is what matters to me most and for a lot of others who have different rims on their cars other than the factory jobbies :)
If you have 15s, 16s, or 17s and you are happy with them then more power to you! My car looks alot lower than it is in those pics because they were taken when the car was on grass.
JakeRobb 03-23-2006, 08:43 AM For you to think I drive around smuggly thinking everyone envies my rims is either naive or ignorance on your own part - not mine.
I was basing that on this quote from you in your earlier post:
Every walk of life from both import and domestic compliments me on my 18s and the lowering with my DMS springs
I guess I overinterpreted "every walk of life." It's good to hear that you're more firmly rooted in reality than I originally thought. ;)
If you have 15s, 16s, or 17s and you are happy with them then more power to you!
I have stock 16" chrome 10-spokes:
http://homepage.mac.com/jakerobb/camaro/medium/5.jpg
I think they look okay; tons better than salad shooters, and I'm happy to drive around on them until I can afford the wheels I want (17x9.5 C6 Z06 replicas). I definitely want to lower the car, but I prefer it when the spacing around the tire is the same all the way around the fender/quarter panel. Yours gets a lot closer at the top of the tire than it is at the sides.
My car looks alot lower than it is in those pics because they were taken when the car was on grass.
I look at the space between the top of the tire and the fender, not the ground clearance. Your front tires look like they have maybe half an inch of space above them. Looks good in the back though. :)
lbrowne 03-23-2006, 10:07 AM Well now that we're on the same page.. ;)
Yeah what I meant with my every walk of life comment was young, old, domestic and import drivers alike have had the same general compliments about my setup.
I know for sure this doesn't mean everyone automatically likes them, just what I've experienced in the 2 cities I've lived in. I've kept my 5 spoke 16s for drag radials - for when I can get around to buyin the tires!
For me 20s definitely don't belong on a Fbody, just my opinion though :)

also those big chrome cheesy rims look like ****. if your gonna go bigger don't go with the baller g-unit big chrome wheels. alot of them look like chrome flowers....
meangreen661 04-07-2006, 01:01 AM well since they were 18*10 at all corners i could only go with a 275 in the front(they are already rubbing slightly being at that size). I would have ordered a smaller width for the front but i got these from somebody for $300 so gotta work with what you have. Tires in the size costed almost $1000! at the i really couldn't afford to get differnet sizes, need something that would fit on the front and was able to be rotated to the back
they are 275/35/18
blacknsilverz 04-07-2006, 01:40 AM i have a set of 18x10 with a 56mm offset with 275/40/18 and that fit good no rubbing at all

They are american racing torque thrust II's special ordered, like the tom henry SS wheels. You can get em at sears auto supposedly.
