adjustable suspensions

i have adjustable lca's, panhard bar, and the drag series rear sway bar from spohn. does any one know the best settings for these when adjusting them? i've a 96 Z28 with a lt4 hot cam headers and full exhaust.

How was the install for the drag sway bar?

The LCA's should be adjusted so they are exactly stock length. There is no puprose in adjusting them, other to insure the axle is exactly perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the car, and that the wheels are centered front-to-back in the wheel openings.

The panhard rod needs to be adjusted so the body is exactly centered side-to-side over the rear axle. Measure from the inside of the wheel, or from the brake backing plates to some fixed point on the chassis. The spacing on the left and right sides should be equal.

The drag rear sway bar is the tough one to adjust. You need to get the car on a perfectly flat surface, and you are sitting in the driver's seat. Adjust the end links so the body sill sits slightly higher on the passenger side, I'm thinking it was about 1/8", but Steve Spohn set it up when he did the prototype install on my car. You need to check with Steve on the recommended pre-load. Did the insturctions not include this?

The install is relatively easy. Just like installing any rear sway bar, except you need to weld in the upper end link attaching points. You can install them with the stock screws, and drive it to a welding shop for the welding. Also a good idea to tack weld the U-bolts to the axle tubes.

thanks for the info. do u guys use locktite on the adjustment bolts to prevent movement?

startin the suspension upgrade project... injuneer... if you have relocation brackets and then get adj. lca's... do you have to adjust it any different?

With brackets you still want the same stock length on the LCA's but as always make sure your wheels are centered inside of your wheel well. Also to make sure your LCA's angle down to the axle from the body.
