Re: Outlook Shelved!
Has anyone said anything about this besides Josh? I'll wait for confirmation before I get my hopes up. That's right, I said hopes up. You see, this would not be bad news. Not by a long shot. It would merely mean that someone in GM sobered up long enough to think, "Wait a minute, why are we giving our prized product to our sh*ttiest, most underperforming brand?"
I'm also an unabashed Pontiac fan, and I have come to the conclusion that Saturn's loss is Pontiac's gain. The Outlook seems too far along to be completely scrapped. It will appear somewhere. I wouldn't mind seeing it surface six months from now as a truly sporty utility for the Arrowhead brand.
Again though, I'll wait for confirmation.

GM will not confirm it directly. Instead AutoWeek will toss out a vague question and GM will answer it blunt and AutoWeek will run with it. That's how it always goes.
The Saturn Lambda is on the shelf and a production decision will be made within the next 4 weeks. GM will tell you that the Outlook is still on and nothing has changed because they have to.

Re: Outlook Shelved!
I want confirmation from one of the many insiders that float around these sites. That's not a slight against you or C&G. If I read something from any one source, I'd want to see it said somewhere else before I beleived it. If Guy says something, I'm gonna want to hear Charlie or Fbodfather or someone in the know to say the same thing.
Re: Outlook Shelved!
If true, then another division is going to have to inherit the thing.
There is precident to something like this (GM belately cancelled the 1998 B-bodies after spending a small fortune finishing all the work and certification for the LT1 to be replaced by the LS1), but at this late stage in the game, there really is too much invested.
I can see the vehicle being held up for a grill makeover before sending it to Chevy, but unless it's sharing more body and interior styling and cosmetic parts than we realize with Buick's Enclave, I think it's more likely to be reassigned than to be killed outright.

I will say Josh is 100% believable.
Also apparently the Chevy Lambda is done and I don't think it shares anything with the Saturn. The only other thing I could possibly see is Holden getting a rebadge Outlook when GM tries to get back some of its investment, design theme is similar and Aus likes big cars so why not try a big SUV (apparently the VE crossovers weren't a high priority).

Re: Outlook Shelved!
I don't understand the reason for this? So Saturn in keeping the Relay instead now? and why would Chevy get one too? With Buick and Chevy getting one, that makes the GMC pointless.
