GMHTP is searching for the quickest budget-built EFI GMs out there.

It doesn’t matter what the combination or ET is; we’re considering street, street/strip, and strip-only vehicles. The only requirements are:

Big dyno and track numbers from vehicles that, for the money spent, make more power and run quicker than the average Joe’s.

Your vehicle should be presentable enough for magazine publication––no rolling POSs, please.

You are willing to explain your speed tricks to your fellow EFI enthusiasts in the article.

Your vehicle would be available for an early March photo shoot.

If you feel that your ride qualifies, please send the following to rick.jensen@primedia.com

External front/rear and engine photos of the vehicle

Scanned timeslip and/or dyno graph

Explanation of your mods

Difference in your ride’s performance over others with similar mods

Some of the free, low-buck, and high-tech tricks you’ve used for this superior performance.

The deadline is February 22!

How about a stock internal, 2.73 geared car that runs 11s? :)

I'll send you an email. :)

lol...I hear ya on that one. My wifes car is a 99 Ram air formula. Has headers(used), borla(used), vig 3200 converter(used), 3.42 gears(used...whole rear from a 6 speed budy of mine), Brian green ram air mod(used), lid (used) and a TR 220 cam our of their first motor(used). Car wuns 11.6s @ 115 for under 2000 in itl. Man, I just realized I didn't buy one mod brand new for that car...lol.

I see a catch-22 here...budget going fast? What a reliability? Does buying used parts count?

Also nothing like waiting one week out for something like this...

Reliability depends on the tune. I went 11.00 over a year ago and over 10,000 miles ago. Still driving to work everyday rain, snow, or shine. Computer control and data aquisition are definitely a big help when it comes to preventing engine damage.

All,

To those who have submitted budget GM entries for GMHTP, thank you!

This will be an ongoing selection process, as we got lots of great entries.

We will contact some people early, some later on.

Thanks for your patience,

Rick Jensen
