I have been searching the net for a programmer for a 1996 camaro with a 3.8L engine but it seems nobody makes them. Does anybody here know of a programmer or a software package for this car?

Yeah I could never seem to find one either. If anyone has one let me know about it too. Do you need to run 91 octane in it too?

Yep, 1996 is practically SOL.

Yeah, I just checked the Hp Tuners site, they list their software for only the 97-02 models. I wonder why they exclude the 96?

You can send your PCM to texas speed and they can do all sorts of things to it for $150. I did it on mine and wow i can feel the diffrence.

I talked to customer service at DHP and they said that their programm will work on the 96. Has anybody used DHP's program?

Walk every were its good exercise, bum rides lol j/k . I had to ask my parents for rides or just barrowed their cars. Or their was this other company I forgot what it was called, but you just buy thier already tuned pcm and you sent them yours when you get it. Look in www.firebirdv6.com or www.fullthrottlev6.com it was in one of those two.

Actually I believe they can program your PCM to make itself think it's a 97 or a 97 can work on your car (one or the other). Either way, contact Texas Speed, they'll hook you up.

You can put a '97 PCM in place of '96. It should be plug-and-play. '97 can be easilly re-programmed.
