disc/drum vs disc/disc non racing

Which is better disc/drum or disc/disc or do they perform the same because the disc/disc setup uses a stronger booster? Rember this is non racing only, so its not whether one is better for heat because obviously disc brakes have less brake fade(overheating).

Sorry, but thats a dumb question. Although drum brakes have a larger contact friction area, they are in a state of mild overheating almost as soon as you apply the brakes. In my old 69 the drum brakes worked great from 30mph. But if you were to hit the brakes at 100MPH and lett off them at 50mph, then reapply them. You'd have NO brakes when you tried the second time.

There is no difference in the booster used on a drum brake vehicle. In fact...drum brakes require less brake pressure to work then disc brakes do.

The time of the drum brake has passed. I doubt you'll see a car manufactured with them in 10 years.
