I think you have the Basics. I have no idea what pic 2 is of. You'll need to re-use your hubs out of your LT1 spindles.

There is also a small metal clip that goes in that rectangle slit in the middle of the caliper between the pistons, I couldn't tell if they were on there or not. You can use a wirebrush attachment for a drill and get all the rust off the spindles and paint them to make them look nicer. Also, paint or polish the calipers...I am working on polishing mine right now before I stick them on, they look pretty much like this when done: just don't use the gold brackets or someone will likely make fun of you =)

Here is a good informational site for the swap: http://www.fbody.com/tech/details.cgi?id=30

I'd make sure you have a set of LS1 lines. People say LT1 lines will work but i don't really see how. The LS1 lines are a lot longer and they were barely long enough for me.

How long did it take you guys to do the swap?

How hard was it to seperate the knuckle from the ball joints?

Car has 123k on the body... think I should replace ball joints anyway? I am having a real hard time finding ball joints for my car though... I did a search on Moog but I can't seem to find a way to deal with them direct, or sub dealers and they say they don't have replacements.

I know I'll have to press the lower ball joints, but if it's worth replacing, i'll do it.

Will I notice the new ball joints in the car?

I could get it done in a day if i didnt paint everything. Soak the ball joints in WD-40 or something like it and leave the bolt that holds the top of the spindle on. Pound it with a small sledge hammer from the side of the spindle close to the bolt to break it loose. Im not sure about replacing the ball joints, mine looked fine at 112k.

Once the swap is done if you wanted steele braided lines would you get the ones for the LT1 car or LS1?

LS1 lines.

It only took me 4 hrs to do the swap as i had already cleaned and painted everything before hand. That included a trip to the parts house and some other BS. The ball joints on my car had already been replaced so i didn't worry about them.
