Does these help out on 4th gens or are they just dead weight

Do a search, there are tons of debates if they work on our cars or not. My stance, they don't hurt anything, and if you have the money, why not. I have one, no complaints :)

I think it stopped a few of the rattles in my vert

Yea and they look cool. :)

I don't think they made a difference on my 96... but then again... the car is 10 years old now and the only rattle comes from the hatch so maybe the shock brace and sfc's have done their job after all.

You Ricer... lol

It helped stop some of the squeaks in my car as well as improve the responsiveness of my car. Lord knows our cars handle like fat pigs, so everything helps.

They work good in 93-97 F-bodies but not much of a benenifit in 98 and up. Just look like a granny rail for a bath tub and give a good handle while working on your engine. I took mine out and sold it on ebay and got some SFC's much more of a difference in squeeks.

98 and up have a different suspension set up its not actually a strut its a shock.

Took mine off and traded it for some welding work.
I am a dedicated drag racer though, I don,t take turns fast at all.

I figure a drag racer might want one, particularly when the car comes down from a wheel stand...... :)

As pointed out above, all 4th Gens are the same and there are no struts involved. The LT1 and LS1 suspensions are both unequal A-Arm setups, and use coil-over shocks, not struts. Its a shock tower brace.

It was only the 3rd Gen cars that had a true strut front supsension.

Got mine for Christmas, haven't noticed anything but a few less squeaks, but of course the rest of the suspension is shot so maybe I should have fixed that first. It does look dang good under the hood!

I'm still trying to make sense of this statement. How are they more beneficial for LT1's?

Also how are 98 and up F-body's having different suspension set ups than 93-97's? Last I checked they are the same suspension setup, as Injuneer has pointed out.

I apoligize and you are exactly right. I was not thinking. Not really paying attention to the years and confused 3rd and 4th gen. Don't worry I am an idiot. HAHAHAHA:D

Alright no problem, I thought you might have been refering to something I had never heard of, but I figured it was just a year mix up. Please drink responsibly.

I noticed a difference when making sudden turns, etc... It also helps as a "granny" bar when pulling yourself up to asume the LT1 or LS1 postion as illustrated below. :D

^...I've been there too. Header install. Sprawled out across the engine compartment tring to get at the back

I was told that you'll notice more of a differance when you install the STB w/ the SFC's. I have a BMR STB, didn't notice too much, we'll see after the SFC install.

hehe, I remember when I was doing the cam install that at one point I was STANDING inside the engine bay (where the radiator normally is)... either changing rockers or plugs... can't recall which but normally there's not much room in there so it was weird having enough space in front of the engine to actually stand on the floor.
