The new LS7 ...

Is a complete monster of a motor. I have never seen something with a "small block" draw in such a crowd at a car show. I got to sit in one and fondle it today, and I just wanted to say that the car is absolutely awesome for an off-the-lot performance car. I can't wait to find a dealership with one I can test-drive (Pretending I can cash checks, I am as of yet unable to produce). I think this car had more people around it than anything else at the show.

Anyone have some of the specs for the stock cam & heads on these?

It looked like the stock exhaust manifold was a better design than most of the shorty headers I have seen. The stock intake looked pretty impressive, and I would like to see real before and after dynos of one of these with bolt-ons. Part of me wants to think it wouldnt show too much as its pretty much got a huge TB, a great flowing factory exhaust, and a non-restrictive intake. The other part of me thinks the heads on these have so much potential compared to even LS1 heads that it may take off with minor bolt-ons. And I keep thinking that you kind of cant go by what the magazines say about bolt on performance for them becasue their too new. Everything will be hyped up. Just like how aftermarket MAF's do so much for a stock LT1, when really, the computer recompensates for it and 50 miles later your back to your baseline power level ...

Anyways, I just started this thread to learn as much as I can about these engines. There suprisingly wasnt to much about them on the internet, just that its 505 HP and its a 427 ... And its faster than a Viper

You're talking about the ls7 Z06. I'll take one.

a few weeks ago there were some threads going around about brand new C6s and i think some ZO6s being dynoed and even modded by a few of the big vendors (TSP or thunder i think)...the numbers were insane!

do some searching

Don't think about using the block as a starting point for a build up, seems GM went cheap on the sleeves:

speculating nonsense....
I have seen ls6 sleeves gone with no nos and no mods.... just too lean.. tuning error to me.

GM is NOT going to go cheap on their top of the line motor. It was available as a crate engine a few weeks before you could even get a Z06. They FOR SURE did not skimp on any part of this motor.

It's heads are just amazing. No other way to put it.
