The time has come to move on to something else. The car is mystic teal with black leather. It has PW, PDL, tilt, cruise, CD player, and rear defrost. I spun a couple rod bearings about 3 years ago which is when most of the modifications were done. I had a few bolt on items before the rebuild, and have added a few since then. The car has 173,000 miles on it and needs a few small things here and there. I purchased it with 118,000 miles on it, and it has been my daily driver since June/July of 2001. I've had the car to the track 4-5 times within that time. To date, a 7.95@87 is the best ET the car has seen in the 1/8th mile. I've trapped 91 in better weather, but couldn't hook up that night. It's still my primary mode of transportation and can be seen any day in the Knoxville, TN area. If the miles scare you, come drive it. I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and head to Florida tonight. A list of modifications may be seen below. However, I'm sure that I'm forgetting something. I'll take $5500 for it. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

(Internal)
3.75" Scat 9000 crank
Triton 5.7" I-beam rods w/ARP bolts

Thanks, Jared.

One detail that I forgot to mention is that there are 36,000 miles on the engine.

What is all wrong with the car? You said it had some minor flaws, also does it have a clear title? Its not a t top car right? How are the tires? Use or burn oil? Also if I was interested in buying a paying cash could you meet me near the NC-TN line, I would be coming in on 40.

Thanks Jonathon

The opti has recently started acting up again, the driver's side window motor is on it's way out, the driver's side actuator for the power door locks needs replaced, something in the ABS needs replaced, the AC doesn't hold refrigerant, and there are a couple of small spots in the paint.

Now that I've scared the crap out of you, I'll elaborate. :) The current opti issues are small enough that the average person wouldn't be able to notice. Most people would probably associate it with the cam. Since I'm in the car daily, I can tell that it's not running quite as smoothly as usual. It generally does not effect the driving at all. However, just like any other opti, it will get worse with time and eventually need to be replaced.

The window motor is very minor, I use that window only when I have to. I've already replaced it once, so the rivets have been removed that hold the stock motor. It would be very easy to change it.

The actuator has been messed up since about a month after I bought the car. If you try to use the keyless entry, the lock on the driver's door will jam. You then have to open the passenger side door and manually unlock the driver's door. After this has been done, it will lock fine with the power and may be unlocked with the key. I simply use the key all of the time. I have a used, but good, actuator for each door that I'll include with the car. The passenger's side works fine, but I got them both so I would have an extra on down the road.

The ABS started acting up about 6 months ago. There was no light, no code, just issues with braking. When I got to ~7mph on deceleration, the ABS would kick in and reduce my braking power. It could be a wheel sensor telling the ABS unit that I'm sliding, or it could be the ABS controller itself. I've never really had ABS help me that much, so my fix was to pull the relay for the ABS. It has an ABS INOP and BRAKE light on now, but my brakes work flawlessly. I would rather have a couple of lights staring at me but be able to stop. The relay is still in the relay box, but not plugged in.

As far as the AC, I know that the compressor works. I haven't used the AC in years until last summer. I charged the system and it worked nicely for a week or two. All of the refrigerant was gone after that. Yet again, this is something that just hasn't bothered me enough to fix.

I hit the nose on the 2nd hitch of a u-haul dolly when I was having problems with my first opti. This is what has caused the chipping on the nose. If you go to the pics link in my signature, you can see the chips if you look close enough. It has gotten a little worse since those pictures, but it still isn't too bad, IMO. There is a door ding on the driver's side quarter panel that irritates me as well as a small, but not very noticeable, scuff from someone's door on the passenger's door.

It has a clear title, and had a clean carfax the last time that I checked. I was rearended by a Jeep about 3 years ago. It was repaired by a very reputable body shop in my hometown. It looks better now than it did before the repair because it got rid of a couple of scuffs that were on the paint when I purchased the car. I ran a carfax on it a good while after the wreck, but for some reason, it didn't show any accidents. Everything was reported through the insurance companies, so I don't know why it's not on there.

After the track visits, it would be slightly low on oil (~1/4 quart). It does fine with average driving, but will consume a small amount if you beat on it. I keep a close check on the oil level and have ran mostly Amsoil with a few Mobil 1 changes in there. I typically change the filter (Wix or Amsoil) at 2500 miles and the oil at 5000.

It is a hardtop car, and the tires are still in good shape. I've been impressed with the performance of these Pirellis as well. I believe that pretty well covers everything that I know to be wrong with the car. I've considered each of these items when pricing the car. If someone wants to give $6K, then I will replace the opti (new), window motor (new), and lock actuator (used). Feel free to ask anything else. As far as meeting somewhere, sure I can head to the state line.

just kidding, this car is extremely nice. It has been very well kept. They car also runs and rides extremely well. Good luck with the sale Brandon. He is basically giving this thing away. Lastly, it will make someone a real nice driver/track car.

Thanks for the kind words, Ryan. Everyone that knows the car says it's priced too cheap. Since I have well over the listed price invested in aftermarket parts alone, I kind of agree.

The car is way way way under priced. Whoever gets it will be getting a heck of a deal. If everything I own wasnt a project, I would own it.

Another thing that I forgot to mention is that the transmission was gone through two years ago. New components consist of second gear, D&D synchro kit (http://www.danddperformance.com/images/t56syncrokit.htm), and D&D steel 3-4 shift fork (http://www.danddperformance.com/images/stl34fork.htm).
