Fastbird93 02-09-2006, 06:21 PM I'm getting my ducks in a row as in another month or so the build should be going full bore. Setup:
355 LT1, TFS Heads/LT4 intake, D-1SC, FAST XFI. I'm planning on either maxing out the blower, or maxing the blower impeller speed (62000 RPM). Either way, looking for some boost in the range of 16-20 PSI. Now, the FAST computer has the ability to run up to a 5 Bar map, so that's no biggie. For my boost level, what should I be running, and how can I go about integrating that into my harness???
INTMD8 02-09-2006, 08:00 PM 2 bar map is good for about 15 psi, 3 bar map for 30 psi.
You should run a 3 bar map sensor, it installs in place of your factory sensor.

So there's no wiring involved with the 3 Bar??? I'm not sure how the FAST is going to interface with everything yet, assuming just a piggyback harness (retaining stock computer for gauges, ect) that plugs inbetween the MAP and stock harness or something like that.
Wouldn't happen to have a specific part recommendation for the 3 BAR would you?? And BTW, your car is incredible.
INTMD8 02-09-2006, 09:26 PM Thanks for the compliment.
As far as the 3-bar sensor, the FAST system will plug directly into it, and it will bolt onto your intake manifold just as the stock one did. Not sure of the part # offhand, but it is sold by FAST. (that is where we get them)
When I was running the older fast system, I used a fast-track harness which piggybacked the fast system to the stock wiring harness and allowed use of the stock pcm for gauges, fans, etc. Not sure if they make one for the new FAST XFI though.
When I installed my BS3 I pruned all the unnecessary wiring from my stock harness and spliced it in with the universal harness from BS3. LOTS of wiring, but everything works :)

Awesome. AFAIK, the FAST system I'm getting (through a FAST dealer) is coming with a LT1 specific piggyback harness, so it should be plug and play. Thanks for the help!

Where are you getting it from? I've been thinking about buying a FAST system as I'm tired of tooling with the LT1_edit (fried a PCM recently, fun). But I haven't done much research on where to find the FAST system on the cheap, yet easy to install.
5thGen 02-09-2006, 10:24 PM How about a chocolate bar?
snorkelface 02-10-2006, 05:58 PM Will the 3-bar sensor work with the factory PCM? If I plan on running up to 15PSI on the street, and maybe a couple of times a year up to 20PSI, would I have to go with a 3-bar, or should I go with a 2-bar setup?

Good question. I think you can get away w/ the 3 bar and the PCM. I'm no blower expert though. Seems though some people use the factory MAP w/ a lot of boost as well. I don't know how they are doing it or if their using a stand alone unit like FAST w/ the factory MAP. Some other guy asked the same question in this forum and about a 3 bar past 15 psi and he got different replies. You can see it here.

Maybe because he is a 93 he got those responses? But the last post the guy has a 93 chipped and using a 2 bar.
