I wish I would have put a drain plug in my pan when i had Frank rebuild my trans. Sure seems like it would make fluid changes a lot easier.
BUT, do the drainplug kits leak?

Anyone using a drainplug on their 4L60?JasonK94Z 02-09-2006, 11:57 AM I wish I would have put a drain plug in my pan when i had Frank rebuild my trans. Because of this, you never get all the fluid out, unless you drop the pan also. The nut leaves about 3/8" of old fluid in the pan. The best way is to drill the pan, and have the nut welded to the outside if the pan. Best location is in the front/bottom of the pan. Frank CPT JasonK94Z 02-09-2006, 05:04 PM Thanks Frank. I just wanted a plug to drain the pan before I drop it to change the filter (when it comes time for service of course). Just keeps my clumsy self from spilling several quarts all over the garage floor :D camaros4ever 02-09-2006, 05:14 PM Hey I used to use one on my '98 Z71, same tranny, it made things a lot easier when changing the fuild, I never had a problem with mine leaking. | ||
