97WS6Pilot 02-08-2006, 11:18 PM I'm thinking of going with the 60# high impedance injectors instead of laying down the cash for a versafueler and 72lbers. I upped the boost to 10psi and now I'm running out of fuel at 5600 rpm. From all my searches I've done it sounds as though people are getting these to idle well.
What is the consensus on large high impedance injectors vs low impedance? I read that engineer had problem with low imp 83#ers and a versafueler.:)
amean94ta 02-08-2006, 11:22 PM i want to know also not a blower guy but in the market for big high impedence injectors
ZBLKHELLRZR 02-09-2006, 01:29 AM Some people w/ low Z's experience idle issues being too rich to clean up. But that's just some. I know on LS1tech a lot of people were ditching their versafueler but never knew why.
I opted for 60's as well from Motron but that plan changed and now I'm going w/ 72 High Z's by RC. 680 bucks when all said and done but the folks on LS1tech and others are giving rave reviews about them. 90's are being built too in high Z but I haven't heard much about them. 60's have been getting good reviews as well w/ no problems.
Alvin@pcmforless.com 02-09-2006, 01:46 AM I really like the Motron 60's. They are quite nice and have awesome qualities.
Lisa33 02-09-2006, 09:41 AM I hadnt any problems at all widh them, just "plug and play" (only changed injector constant). Unfortunally i maxed them after a while so i had to get 84lbs (and that wasnt plug and play, had to adjust a lot beafore i could get the engine to start and idle alright)
97WS6Pilot 02-09-2006, 03:35 PM I emailed racetronix about tunability and sluggishness of the Mototrons. He said they are very easy to tune. He also said that due to the new design they are faster than some of the low impedance injectors!
I'm glad to see Alvin likes them too.
Anybody have anything negative that they've heard or experienced about the Mototron 60#ers?
Chrisbequick 02-09-2006, 04:55 PM Mine run great. After the tune my car idles just fine.

amean94ta 02-09-2006, 07:56 PM now the big question where to get them the cheapest?????????????
JZ28Max 02-09-2006, 08:00 PM i am running them also, no problems whatsoever and idels great. i believe several venders have them for under $420.
jrutland 02-09-2006, 09:45 PM Lingenfelter has them for $400 with free freight. I'm thinking about picking me up some!

Racetronix sells flow matched sets for 54.99 per injector. It would be wise to get them flow matched since they are such large injectors. You can get them for $1.00 cheaper at Harris Speed Works which is a distributor for racetronix.:)

Kevin Blown 95 TA 02-11-2006, 10:55 AM Thanks! That helped me out a lot, too!:D
snorkelface 02-11-2006, 01:12 PM I thought there were problems with running high-flow, high-impedance injectors, and that is why the Versafueler was invented in the first place. If that's not the case, then how would I know which avenue would be the best way to go?

I think it comes down to which brand name injector you get. In general I would say low imp is better and faster. If you need more fuel than 60lbers can supply you have no choice but to pay the $400 for a versafueler or aftermarket computer.
But apparently the mototrons flow good and are pretty snappy too. I trust Racetronix because I know he flows a lot of injectors. Alvin has obviously tuned these successfully. I'm surprised LJ (Owner to the patent for Versafueler) has not jumped in on this topic since his website claims that large high impedance injectors are hard to tune at idle.:)

I just wanted to make sure I am going the right direction on my injectors. I'll be needing 85lbers, so was going to go with the Versafueler (if they ever get that GP going.:))
97WS6Pilot 02-14-2006, 04:33 PM OK, I bought a set of these, installed them and tuned the car today. I immedately noticed that the car is more responsive. Idle is very good. I picked up one inch of vacuum at idle(12 to 13). These injectors are waaay better than my 30 lb SVO's.
So I hooked up the wideband to tune WOT. I set all my PE#'s in tunercat to 20 as a guesstimate. First run I dialed in 11.5 A/F ratio from 2000 to 6200 rpm. What luck! My BLM's are 128-127 across the board.
I emailed Bryan Herter. He said not to mess with injector constants. He also said these injectors respond very similar to GM injectors.
If you had asked me about injectors 1 month ago I would have said they are all the same. Its such a big difference I'm beginning to wonder if I didn't have a failed injector before. I guess I'll never know because the SVO's will never be on my car again.:thumb: :thumb:
Racetronix 02-15-2006, 01:16 AM When buying injectors from a Racetronix dealer make sure you ask if they actually came from Racetronix and have them put it on the invoice. Not all Racetronix dealers carry Racetronix injectors. Some may substitute something else non-FM if they come upon a deal. Racetronix flow-matched injectors are all serialized, grouped and logged in our database here so if someone has any doubts as to what they are getting you can always e-mail us for confirmation.
HarrisSpeedWorks 02-15-2006, 08:23 AM All of our Racetronix Injectors are straight from Racetronix. :)

Some of the dealers I called said that the mototrons are flow matched by the factory. How much variance in flow do you generally see from these motrotrons as they are shipped from the factory?

That is incorrect. The injectors ship as long as they are within +/-5% of the factory spec. We have injectors in stock that range from 93-104%, 100% being the average. We have had some with distorted spray patterns and odd impedances as well.
Unfortunately some vendors play on a customers lack of knowledge and ability to verify what they are getting. If a dealer tries to tell you they are FM from the factory it is time to start shopping elsewhere.
