Question Clutch problem!

Well just got the new rearend in and now this happens! When I start to thrash on the car it screams to 4000rpms then starts jumping. It doesn't feel like the engine is dying or stopping it just jumps and the tach sorta stops and tries to rise. I was thinking that maybe the clutch is grabbing and then letting go then grabbing then letting go. I was told about two years ago that the clutch was gonna need replace by my mechanic in about a year depending on how nice I treated it and I've been thrashing it for awhile. It did this before the rearend went out but only like a 3rd of the time and now it does it and the rpms that it does it at keep getting lower. So an opinions on whether its the clutch or any other insite? It doesn't send the rpms screeming like it normally does when clutchs are going out either.

Re: Clutch problem!

could be the clutch. it could be slipping into it superheats and then grabs from the expansion and friction heat. basically, replace that thing and then turn the flywheel
