Hesitation

For the past month, when I'm at a light or idling, my car kind of hesitates and feels like it wants to stall out one minute, and the next it'll idle like a Lexus.

The RPM and oil pressure needles both stutter somewhat, but once I take off and go on my way, everthing's fine.

Does anyone know what's wrong with my car?

plugs, wires, coil pack for starters

I just put new plugs and wires in less than a year ago and I checked for any loose connections yesterday afternoon.

How would you determine if the coil pack is causing the problem?

You'd have an SES light on and it would be likely, though not definitely, be a problem at throttle positions other than just idle.

Anthony, check your PM.

I would check the plug wires and coil packs as well. But if you say there were no loose connections, just start with the coil packs. If thats not the problem then check your fuel injectors to make sure none are clogged.

Heck, I would even check the current reading from the altenator, may sound silly but I would start cheap before I spent too much.

Why not just take it in and have the dealership run it on the scanner. Just a thought.

What is the voltage reading? When you say the tach and oil pressure stumble - do they drop a lot or just a little because the RPM is dropping?

Problem solved.

I overlooked the little rubber hose under the EGR plate. It had a hole in it, causing the leak. I replaced that hose and everything's fine.
