Anyone had fitment issues with PA racing K-member?

I spent half the day last Saturday trying to install my PA Racing K-member. I had to torch my a-arms to get the bolts out of the old k-member. But after hours of prying, raising/lowering engine and car, I could not get the drivers side k-member and mount to line up. The front ear of the k-member was hitting the plate of the motor mount. So I ground off a lil bit of the corner. I was then able to get it up enough to hammer the bolt thru the hole. But the k-member is still hitting the mount plate AND there's about a 1/4" gap between the front ear and the mount. It does not want to draw together when the bolt is tightened. So now my car has been sitting on the lift for a week and my old boss isn't happy about it. I called and left a message for Jason @ pa racing last Saturday explaining the problem. I waited till Monday afternoon and called again. I was told he was out in the shop and she'd give him the message. Finally on Wednesday afternoon he called me back. He said he couldn't understand what I was talking about and asked me to send some pics. I sent them that evening and just got a reply back last nite. The reply was only to ask when I got it and that he'd look for my invoice on Monday.
Meanwhile my car is STILL sitting on the lift and my old boss is getting SUPER pissed.

Has anyone else had any issues with theirs not fitting properly? Some advice maybe ?

Re: Anyone had fitment issues with PA racing K-member?

if u go to thirdgen.org there are alot of complaints about pa racing
i would never do business with them again
i did not have the same fitment issues as u do with the k-member to the frame, but i had plenty of problems with the pa-racing k-member to the pa racing control arms, and i had an issue with the bolts they sent to bolt the k-member to the frame and the bolts they sent to bolt the control arms to the k-member, and their customer service sucks

i was not pleased and if u go to thirdgen.org you'll find alot more disappointed customers

Is this just a 3rd gen prob or both 4th and 3rd? I have one that i have been putting off to put in for about a year now. I am not looking forward to doing this now since all I hear are horror stories.

Thumbs down Re: Anyone had fitment issues with PA racing K-member?

This one is in my 4th gen. I finished "installing it" tonight. I had to cut even more off the front ear for the drivers side motor mount and pry the crap out of it to get it back flush with the mount bolt hole, then had to shim the bolt because it is now too long. The motor sits higher on the driver's side than the pass. side and the rack is lower on the pass side than the driver's side. It would be ont thing if it was even with the front of the k-member, but it is noticeably different! PA Racing is open M-F 8-5 EST, I started calling at about 4:20 pm and got no answer. As far as I'm concerned, that's $362.00 down the $hitter !

Oh Boy, this doesnt sound good. I just ordered a k member for my '95 formy Sunday night. Hope I dont run into this problem. Is PA gonna make it right for you. Honestly, if it didnt fit like stock, I wouldnt have altered or modified it in any way and sent it back. Hope everything works out for you. Eric

I wouldnt have altered it either, but its been a week and a half now and the only thing PA Racing has said is "When did you get it, i'll have to look for your invoice Monday". I'm sure I could have bought a stock k-member for $362. I don't know anybody that would let my car sit on their lift for weeks waiting for someone to $hit or get off the pot.

Started the car to move it today and it vibrates like hell. I'm going to try to call again tomorrow.

Re: Anyone had fitment issues with PA racing K-member?

I called yesterday @ lunch and was told Jason was out to lunch. I told the lady I really needed him to call me back so I knew what to do. She said she would have him call me as soon as he got back. At 4:15 I had still not received a call back. I called and she answered again. I said " Is Jason back from lunch yet?" She said " umm, yeah......Is this Chris? " I said yes. Then she said " Oh uhhh....I was just getting ready to call you." " Jason said to send the K-member back so he can look at it because he couldn't really tell anything from the pics you sent." When I told her there was no way I could pull it and wait and wait till they figured out what to do, she said " well that's the only way he can tell whats wrong with it." So I'm supposed to leave my car on the lift for who knows how long until it's repaired/ replaced ? I don't think so. I told her to send me another one and a return shipping label so I could send the other one back, and that they have my CC# incase. She said " Ok, I'll tell him to make another one and send it out. " HUH ? I didn't know I was ordering from Burger King. If these things are all set up in a jig and welded, why would you only make one when someone orders it ??? Guess I'll wait a week and call back yet again.

I've got the BMR K-member and also helped 2 other friends install theirs. Quality pieces with good fit.
