car wont start, been sitting for a while

Car has been sitting since last april while i slowly replaced the clutch again and the input shaft, now the car doesnt want to start. it turns over but wont catch, comes close sometimes. tomorrow im gonna check for spark, and the fuel pump is still working and there is fuel pressure, but im wondering if have it sit so long the injectors could have been gummed up. if they are any ideas on how to clean then out.

also is it bad to use that quick start stuff on a fuel injected motor

its sucks cause changing the clutch and input shaft went so well to just have the car not start.\

Did you have a full tank of gas? That could be a problem due to a moisture build up in your tank.

no there was probably only a 1/4 tank or less

More than likely you have water in your tank, you can either get some fuel treatment or strip the tank dry or you could be cheap and use a little alcohol it would be a good time to change the filter too. Also see how much fuel pressure you have just to make sure your fuel pump isn't bad, if treating the gas and having fuel pressure won't start then i would start troubleshooting the injectors.

Sounds like a fuel probelm. Try and get a fuel pressure reading.

my 94 firebird was doing the samething when i had it in the shop a few weeks, for some body work.

it was cranked fine before i took it in but the guy at the shop called me and said he couldnt get it cranked.
i went up there and took a look and found out that my spark plugs were faulted out.
mine was catching sometimes like yours is "like its was about to start".

i know you proly dont wanna check your plugs but it doesnt hurt to check.

changed the plugs and that didnt help, i think im gonna drain the tank maybe that will help how do i check the fuel pressure. when i took out the old spark plugs the were soaked in gas. so maybe it is just to old. it has been about 9 months but i put some 20 ltrs of 94 in and i guess it didnt help

if your plugs are soaked with gas then theres no spark.
to verfy theres a probelm with the fuel system try this:
get a friend to help, get a water bottle and poke a small hole in the top and fill with a little gas, then have a the other person try and turn it over, while he is trying to crank it, spray alittle gas into the throttle body, but be careful if it backfires (never has on me but i have seen it happen) it could ignite the bottle. if plugs are fine the car should crank and stay cranked as long as you spray the gas in. if plugs arent fine then i shouldnt crank.

o yea this also works for with throttle body cleaner

another prob my brother had when he put my car in storage (for about 2 yrs) before he gave it to me, was the optispark had bad during the storage period.
