Me vs. Stock 04 GTO M6

how u think i will hold up against one with mods in sig, i kno his power will take over the race, but what are your opinions from the start, i will also have BFG DR's

does he know what your car looks like? if not borrow mine;) like you said, i think the long haul is going to kill you. get a nice jump and you can do it.

Missing those Longtubes and other bolt on's is going to hurt, but I'll be optimistic and say you'll barely get him if he's a good driver. And even if he does know what your car looks like, mines a spittin' image :D

Go from a dig and I bet you'll tear him up. Your DRs w/ him wheelhopping the launch most likely will equal you with a big fat hole shot. Does his power let him then walk around you? I'm thinking no due to the weight. The 04s don't run much quicker in the 1/4 than LT1s on average from what I read, and you've got a couple decent mods...

I'd think he only has about 20-25 rwhp on you anyway with more weight...

Yea, if i had longtubes Dustin I would go out on a limb and say i'd walk it just about everytime. As im sitting right now, the launch is gonna decide the outcome in this race, because if i pull from the start 3900#'s or whatever is gonna have some trouble keeping up.
I think the couple hundred pounds more is gonna need the extra 20-25hp to move that bus;) .

04 GTO's run mid 13's around 103-104....LT1's don't generally get in the mid 13's and usually only run about 99-100. The GTO weighs about 200 lbs more than the Fbody though. Seeing as how the original poster doesn't have much in the way of mods, I'd say the GTO will get him if driven properly. I've run neck and neck with 2 different LS1 fbodies, so I don't think a near stock LT1 is gonna have what it takes.

It's 3700 lbs, not 3900. Mine weighed in at 3948 with me (240 lbs) in it as well as a half tank of gas and a bunch of sh*t in the trunk.

Well my car has gone 14.0@102mph 2.2 60' on street tires, i plan on getting BFG DR's and if i could cut a 1.9/2.0 60' my car will go mid 13's on stock 138k mile motor.
I think if i can pull outta the hole quick and take the lead, the win would go to the LT1..thats what i think..anything goes on the street! I kno my LT1 runs outta breath in like 3rd gear, but pulling the lead off the launch will pretty much determine the win in my opinion since both cars run similar 1/4 times and the GTO only traps like 2-3 mph higher than me..It's gonna be a drivers race IMO

Seems like on LS1gto.com the fastest Stock 04 M6 was a 13.1@107 1.8 60' in Kansas and the guy has been racing cars all his life he says..

Rest are anywhere from 13.4-14.X@103-105

Yeah, the car's are close enough where the driver will make the difference in a shortish race. 319 rwhp is without the juice. Haven't dyno'd on it yet.

Yeah, I just saw that the LT1 only has 267 rwhp.....the GTO should have a good 35-40 rw on him... But with 4.11's and dr's on the lt1, the GTO is at a disadvantage from a stop with it's little 245 tires. On a highway punch, the GTO would walk him pretty easy, but from a dig it'll be tough.

Once the Goat gets going, look out. He has a LOT more horsepower than you do. Your only chance is to nail the launch and hold the lead as long as possible. He will gain on you the whole way down the track.

my gearing and low end tq i think i could pull him outta the whole till like 100, after that the LT1 runs outta breath and the LS1 is gonna take over.. but im i'll take him by a 1/2 car length at most:shrug: .. if he gets the jump, ya kno it's over!:lol:

I actually took a 05 GTO 6spd out yesterday, (boss bought it for the dealership) and i was quite impressed by the LS2 :bow: But even hitting 2nd hard in those cars makes the wheels hop like no other:( ..now i would like to drive my friends 04 to see how the 04-05 compare:D

its just an inside joke. long story. basicaly bow94's friend used my camcorder to record his runs and mine. he later rewinded the tape to show ryan his run and ended up recording over our runs. he knows ill give him a 2 second head start tho.;)

But hey; it's a drivers race. Two 6spds.. almost equal power (when you factor in weight, hp, tq etc..), so it's almost deffinently going to be driver with the Goat a slight edge.

Imma give it my best, I also have a NX wet kit on the way, should suprise him if i get it installed in time :lol:

Ya there will be no competition if you use the NX kit; he will probably be pretty surprised :D
