major overheating problem

temp gauge reads 250 to and up..!!thermostat just bought,electric water pump functioning great..dont understand how the gauge reads high but engine seems to be at correct temp,the problem is that the coolant boils in the radiator and cant find a reason why..hopeing for some answers before i take it to a shop...hopeing block or heads and gaskets didnt crack...:( just bought the car..

Maybe a pluged up water pump? What year is your car?

its a 93 but the water pump was installed at the end of last year..october

Check all your fuses. I bet your fans arent coming on.

Make sure you bleed all the air out of the system.

Rami, also check to make sure the cooling fans are in original installed condition. I had a third gen once that someone had removed the fans out of. When they re-installed, for whatever reason, they had cut the connector wiring. They wired them backwards. A DC motor will spin in the wrong direction when wired backwards. If you arent savy at telling if the fan is spinning the right way, you can test with a sheet of paper. Air should be PULLING towards the motor. The fan blade will not pull air if spinning backward. Probably not your problem, just wanted to throw out a real life scenario that i have pesonally seen happen. :eek:
