Cal tracs and sway bar?
i've been looking at suspension lately, and im looking at either using cal-tracs or comp eng slide a link for street/strip use. I was just wondering if its capable for cal tracs to be used on the street with out major adjstments all the time? This is for an 80 camaro.
Also how bad is it to run no sway bar in the front. I know t isn't bad in 4thgens, but how bout 2nd?

Re: Cal tracs and sway bar?
Running no swaybar in the front of any car would be horrid. Who told you 4th gens aren't bad without a front swaybar? You should have a front sway bar almost no matter what, unless the car is purely for drag. Then I don't see a use for it.

According to that thread some people said it was a big difference and some said they hardly noticed. Like I said about subframe connectors, it really depends on the person and how sensitive they are to the feel of the car. I personally would not run without a front swaybar, simply because I love taking corners fast and I am not concerned about another 30 or so pounds on the front of my car.

Well i kind of forgot i didnt have the sway bar and gave it a good deal of gas. I almost ended up on the grass from that.
Thats the best way i can describe how it is w/o it.

Re: Cal tracs and sway bar?
i know it wouldn't be good for for high speed turns. but for cruisin around locally and at a drag strip is what i was wondering about. Sorry i dint explain that.

In any case, if it is just for running around and drag racing, I don't see a problem. But, if you plan on taking any corners fast either get a swaybar or some really really good shocks.
Re: Cal tracs and sway bar?
i would take it off to free up the front suspension, and get more traction to the back, as well as free up some weight. Like i said i wont to building it for road racing. Just local cruising and drag strip.
