Camaro Comments,

Interior: push back the bottom of the dash away from knee room. Think bottom slope of current vette Glove box not 57 Chevy Meets 4th gen to give more of 69 feel. Dont let Instrument Cluster extend past dash pad. Center console gauges front of stick, could be SES, "Check Gauges", E Brake light, and Air bag lights. That would move the more critical gauges off of the floor. Aside from that you could also consider Turning the floor gauges to vents not sure about that though. Dash HUD would be awesome for Speedo and Tach. 1st Gen Camaro Script in the Hugger orange part of dash would look good. Left side E hand Brake for drifting racing. Discreet side window defogger vents would be nice. A computer that read its own error codes would be awesome.

Exterior: Flare the top of front fenders(69), give wheelwells 69 swooshes on back to door creases. Black out grill keep exposed healights, and possibly 69 taillights. If you can vent the Open Grile back pressure through engine bay out the back of the cowl over the windshield.

I hope to get one come production and am current 69 and 98 owner.

I would like to see the floor gauges stay but with soo much negative post on them I thought Id offer the less critical warning lights suggestion as an alternative to loosing them completely. I tried to keep it short as possible as they have a character limit.

I posted this in another thread but I thought it would help my point with pics posting it here

================================================== =============

The concept interior has distracting reflective orange trim and too much chrome around the gauges. No camaro ever had that. I see BelAir lines in it. I dont think it ever had a chance.

Lets compare them,

1969 instrument cluster all blacked out the way it came with a little chrome around the gauges, also covered by the black dash pad that went straight across over the top. Origional 69 and all blacked out. Much more room than 4th gen, and stylish. The White gauges infront of the gear selector instead of reflective orange much more attractive.

The gauges have way too much chrome extending above and past the dash pad in the concept.

Another 1969 from a different angle. Again no bulge at your legs.

The bulge in the bottom of the dash didnt come from 69 however looks 4th gen/ Belair the way it comes back in. It doesnt belong. I think a smooth Vette angled glove blox would give it a better look. Its also imposing on real and percieved room. The doors are beautiful and look like they came right off the vette but the reflective orange hurts the look.

To show the vette glove box line which I think would be more inline with the 69 at least as far as the bottom is concerned and better looking.

and the best automatic gear selector GMs ever produced again 1969 I truly hope this makes the production automatics.

The 68-69 horseshoe autoshifter sucks though if you're trying to bang through the gears. (Speaking from experience.) I'd much rather see a more modern gear selector set-up for the autos, and include paddle shifters as an option on the high end models.

Other than the obnoxious colors, I actually like the concept's interior layout.

I always thought of it as a 747 throttle. My 2BBL 69 350 doesnt have the power that would require shifting manually. What if it was Automatic ratchet shifter?

I DO like your paddle shifter idea.

I definitely like the idea behind a factory ratchet shifter. Not for the base V6, but as an option and standard on the V8 performance autos.
