anasazi 01-20-2006, 09:50 AM this morning Al Roker on the TODAY show gave the national weather while sitting inside the camaro concept, and sang many praises to it including mentioning that he'd like to get one if it gets built.
+1 for GM's public relations / marketing department
captskin 01-20-2006, 10:09 AM That's pretty cool....something different.
Ed 2001 SS 01-20-2006, 10:53 AM The timer on my TV normally wakes me up in the mornings. It was pretty cool to see the Camaro on there. :)
gmanss 01-20-2006, 12:05 PM Who has the video? Missed that.
91Z28350 01-20-2006, 12:06 PM Good thing it is the new, slimmer Al. Would have been a publicity nightmare if he had got stuck in the car.
raven05649 01-20-2006, 12:36 PM I Can't wait until Sunday at 1 when NBC Covers the NAIAS. I will happily miss football for a glimpse of the Camaro.
Meccadeth 01-20-2006, 12:57 PM  That's awesome! I NEED this video.
summabiotch...
I saw he was at the show a little after 7, he was showing the new mercedes, but I had to go to work. he must have done it in the camaro concept in the 8am hour.
HAZ-Matt 01-20-2006, 10:36 PM If it is good enough for Al Roker, it is good enough for me!
detltu 01-20-2006, 11:00 PM Yeah I wasn't going to buy one. But now, I mean come on...... Al Roker! I'll need at least two.:D

Big Als Z 01-21-2006, 02:01 AM This car is getting major press coverage, more then I remember the Challenger getting. Its on AOL, its on AIM, its on my IE home page, its all over the net, and you can bet your a$$ that it will be on every cover of every auto mag in your local B&N and Borders.
Huge move for GM and Chevy, good way to keep the people asking about Chevy's and keeping it #1.
JB'z 94 01-21-2006, 03:32 AM I just want a screen shot, preferably with him smiling while sitting in the car.... then out comes the comic talk bubble... and out comes the funny.

yep, he went to the mercedes after the camaro.
doing stuff like this will go miles on changing the camaro's redneck image.

Exactly. Another exciting car to get people into Chevy's showrooms, not to mention get Chevy sales. With all the good press this thing is getting, they better have some skilled workers ready to go for the first year because they are going to be busy little bees building a ton of Camaros :)

Until the car actually comes out, and rednecks get their hands on it again.

Hey if they're gonna help it's popularity and sales - I could care less about this "image."

"image" is everything
Chrome383Z 01-24-2006, 09:47 AM and gangbangers drive Lexus and Cadys? I saw a Mercedes parked at a Trailer Park the other day?
This logic holds no merit.

There is also an article on the Camaro concept in the newest issue of GQ.
That'll help the Camaro image as well, I'm sure.
Yes, I read GQ. Sue me.:D

Explain how GM cares that some associate Camaros and rednecks if they are selling well?
Demon's Camaro 01-25-2006, 11:01 AM I work at Dish Network and trust me I run into alot of rednecks. I have maybe seen 1 4th gen in a rednecks driveway. It is usually 2nd and 3rd gens. Usually rusted and on cinder blocks too. And I believe the Beretta and the old school cavalier is the iconic redneck car, at least the one they use for transportation. As for the truck of choice it appears to be the F-150.
Is there a difference between redneck & white trash?
graham 01-25-2006, 11:13 AM Depends on who you ask.
I have a full tilt southern draw and redneck vocabulary. But I live in a house, dont have any lust for my sister/cousin ect, dont have a mullet, not racist, and whatever else is the current stereotype.
