I've had a few random people from work who know i'm into GM cars because of my pervious camaro and GTO come up to me in the hallway excited about the concept. One guy i hadn't seen in a coupole months told me he has put his plans to buy an LS1 WS6 on hold and now he's just going to wait for the new camaro. Sadly, the peole who have seen pictures of the interior all agree with me that if it comes out like that, it could kill the deal, including the guy who put his plans on hold to buy the WS6. Please god don't let chevy **** this up and put a stupid looking retro interior in such a modern beautiful car design. Hell, one guy who loves the new mustang even said that's why he didn't buy a new mustang vert. Even though he loves mustangs and used to own a 66, he hates the interior and just couldn't imagine driving in that interior daily. He's baffled GM might make the same mistake, the thinking being that a retro interior is too polarizing and definitely will turn some buyers offand send them away, while a modern interior is at worst not going to be a deal breaking thing unless it's comepletly botched. I can see having a retro interior in the concept for fun and some extra press, but dear god, do a marketing study and glean the truth that an ugly inteior is like playing russian roulette. LrngCrv 01-20-2006, 07:30 PM it seems that GM is throwing some money out on the advertising also and it is just a concept at this point, i have seen quite a few google adds and they set aside a nice spot on the website for it, seems like if they were even thinking about not making it maybe they wouldn't be advertising as much (something that was missing when the 4th gen was out, i don't even remember seeing a camaro add for quite awhile until now) graham 01-20-2006, 07:36 PM Isnt it almost amazing at what it takes to get us excited?! (almost nothing, lol) TRUE fans!!! Rock on! 5thgen69camaro 01-20-2006, 08:02 PM it seems that GM is throwing some money out on the advertising also and it is just a concept at this point, i have seen quite a few google adds and they set aside a nice spot on the website for it, seems like if they were even thinking about not making it maybe they wouldn't be advertising as much (something that was missing when the 4th gen was out, i don't even remember seeing a camaro add for quite awhile until now) Actually Camaro had the kid who could tell the Z28 Camaro from his bedroom from the sound of the engine?? I did like the T/A that ate the Lamborghini. The AD said "the last Muscle car" I didnt quite understand that part. JB22 01-20-2006, 08:19 PM I couldnt agree more, I have a desktop background of the concept on my laptop at work, and I have had lots of people (lots of non car people say) "WOW thats a hot car!" I have had lots of other car people say "WOW" as well. The feedback has been awesome! fredmr39 01-20-2006, 09:25 PM This has been discussed before - I don't look up old threads th cuz my memory sux - but yea, it's pretty awesome - thanks for reminding me of that fact. | ||
