Camaro25thann 01-18-2006, 05:32 PM Sorry if this is old news or if others have gotten the same message, but I thought I'd share this. I used the contact us link on chevrolet.com to give them my thoughts and encouragement on the new Camaro and here is what they had to say:
Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. I appreciate
you taking the time to write us in regards to our Chevrolet Camaro concept
vehicle.
This is a concept vehicle and consequently we do not have sales literature at
this time. We are very excited about our future plans for vehicles that will
generate excitement and enthusiasm for Camaro.
Until vehicles are ready for production, plans for future models do remain
confidential to the public. Please continue to check our Chevrolet website for
the most up to date model information.
We are interested in your suggestions and appreciate it when customers like you
take the time to write to us about them. We value the opinions of our customers
and we always take them into consideration as we plan for future models.
Again, thank you for contacting Chevrolet.
Sincerely,

I know it is really a question of when not if, but it is still great to things like "Until vehicles are ready for production, plans for future models do remain
confidential to the public." directly from Chevrolet. I like hearing them call it a future model and not a possibility!:D
RhinoSS 01-18-2006, 05:36 PM I got almost the same exact message from Chevy regarding an email I sent them. It also contained a wink and a nudge when they say it's not currently ready for production.
JasonD 01-18-2006, 05:44 PM Guys, you gotta stop twisting their words around to sound like you want it to. When they say:
"Until vehicles are ready for production, plans for future models do remain confidential to the public."
What they mean is that they are not given an information to release on any vehicle until it is actually approved for actual production. This is because GM does not release any such information until that time...on ANY vehicle they make.
I am not saying you are wrong to be excited and all that, but there is no reading between the lines. The people that answer those e-mails do not know any more (probably less) about the Camaro than the people here.
However, I think that the inquiries are counted and logged, so it is still not a bad idea to e-mail. Maybe Scott will chime in.

I know, and I agree, but as you stated, I am excited. I can't help but read between the lines. However you are correct in that they do count and log inquiries. I was given an ID # for my comments to them. So I think it is a good idea to email!:D
99SilverSS 01-18-2006, 06:19 PM I was at the LA Show this weekend and the presenter for the Camaro Concept there wanted people to log onto Chevy.com and send GM an e-mail about the concept and if they like it. So I think they do take notice and do serve a purpose. After all this is why the concept was unveiled at auto shows. How else would public reaction be guaged.
I also got this one:

We want to refer you to our North American International Trade Show website. We refer you to www.gm.com/company/gm_exp_live/events/naias_2006/index_flash.html. mdlestat 01-18-2006, 07:57 PM I also wrote to them-- I believe they are intersted in what we have to say. Now I wait-- not for a letter response, but a production date... :)
Cheers--
Joe K. 96 Zeee!! 01-18-2006, 08:06 PM You can bet they're interested. Fbodfather was saying just that. He appoligized for the form letter. The volume they receive has to be huge.
Fbodfather 01-18-2006, 09:03 PM You betcha we want to hear from you! And yes, you will get a form letter back simply due to the huge amount of email we get each day.
Now....that said.....a couple of thoughts (if you want to be taken seriously....)
No cursing.
Use spell check
Read your letter thru before hitting 'send'
If you don't like something, tell us what we need to do to make it better -- at least in your opinion.
When I say "if you want to be taken seriously"...that's not a slam per se....it's good advice for life itself.....

First, I must say, it's an honor to have you respond to a thread I started:metal:
Second, I sent nothing but praise. Also, I believe I had correct grammar, so hopefully they'll take it seriously. No complaints from me. . . well one. . .I wish I had this car yesterday!:D
KevinZ44 01-19-2006, 01:28 AM For those of us who are too busy to search the net for a specific email address, out of courtesy, can someone please provide us with a correct email to send in our $0.02?
Thanks in advance!

KevinK 01-19-2006, 07:45 AM Sent an email to them yesterday.
They're probalby inundated with emails, ...but that's a good thing :)
As Scott mentioned, ...constructive comments are a good idea. Let them hear what you'd like to see...

Jim85IROC 01-19-2006, 10:36 AM I give up. I got my submission down to 2,450 characters (including spaces) and it still bitched that I was over 2,500 characters. I edited it more, now I'm getting some different error.
I hope the new camaro works better than GM's comments submission.
EDIT: Got it down under 2300 characters and it finally took it.
OutsiderIROC-Z 01-19-2006, 11:10 AM Those responses from GM sound like form letters.
HTWLSS 01-19-2006, 01:13 PM Those responses from GM sound like form letters.
With the volume of mail they're getting, what do you expect? Flowers?
I8COBRA 01-21-2006, 11:20 PM Got my response today.
