Concept Camaro in the Crusher!?!?!?

I was just curious if anyone else has heard this. Is the Camaro concept going to be thrown in the crusher? I heard from another board that in two weeks the concept will be flattened. I know that this is sometimes normal practice but this is the Camaro, it is special. Would they really crush a $15 million car that means so much to so many people?:confused:

Someone is full of crap. It will go in the GM Collection once it's time is over. They do crush production prototypes though.

Whats sad is "when" I win the powerball I still wouldn't be able to buy it off of them, They better not crush it though, it belongs in one of their museums

Not even close to being true. They have a schedule for the car going into late this year, and many more dates are expected to be added.

I had a hard time believing this too because I knew that the car was scheduled for many more shows and GM would have a bunch of VERY angry Camaro enthusiasts if they crushed it.

I know 1983(?) Corvettes that made it out were destroyed by GM, thats why only 1 exists from that year.

But I'm sure after this car makes it tours, it'll be retired to the GM museum.

83 Vettes were pre-production mules. That's why they were destroyed. There were only 13 made I believe. The last remaining is in the National Corvette Museum. After seeing the GM Heritage museum I'm sure the Camaro concept is destined a place there alongside the last 4th gen Camaro and Firebird.

Speaking of the last 4th gen, I wonder how the guy that paid $70K to own the last Camaro (available to the public at least) feels now?

To some people stuff like that is a big deal . That car was still the end of an era . If it were to be sold , another collector will snatch it up qwik .

Too bad it was produced on August 27th and not August 31st. I'd love to have the last Camaro made on my birthday. I haven't seen the guy or the car since it was presented to him at Berger Chevy in October of 2002.

If GM every decided they didn't want the concept any longer (unlikely), they would probably auction it off. Ford did this with many of their concepts a few years back. I can't believe someone actually bought that ugly ass early 90s Mach III concept.

That doesn't mean the car won't be built, I can only speculate it will be pretty close to what the concept looks like, which in my opinion is just awesome, and mean looking.

The Csaba is an idiot. It's amazing he runs a car magazine because he's negative about every vehicle made just about unless it's some fancy *** or European car. I don't believe a damn thing he says.

They are maybe talking about the car in the LA show as it was a fiberglass with no running gear but the real car will be at shows all this year and maybe next till the car comes back out. Then GM will put it in their collection

However, GM has stated that no modifications may be made to the concept as they still hold the rights to the design. I am free to drive and show the car as I please, but they still reserve the right to borrow the concept for future shows. I'd rather not get into specifics, but the cost was certainly in line with a 1 of 1 concept with such mass appeal.

He was able to "Obtain" two pre-production C6's for his Toronado project.
